NFL Week 7 Recap
The seventh week of the NFL was full of action along with a few upsets. Certain games that were considered “locks” ended up falling through the cracks while others went according to plan. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite games of the week during this NFL Week 7 recap.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers – 21-3 (Panthers)
Perhaps the most notable upset of the week was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers getting beaten by the Carolina Panthers. The Buccaneers have now fallen to 3-4 with a 2-2 record on the road. They were unable to score a single point until the fourth quarter when they kicked a field goal. This team isn’t playing well together, and they don’t have much time to fix it.
It was announced by the Panthers shortly after the win that P.J. Walker would continue as the starting quarterback. They noted that even if Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold are healthy, Walker will continue to start. This is huge news for Walker who seems to be the best fit for the offense.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Chargers – 37-23 (Seahawks)
When we said this week was full of upsets, we weren’t kidding. The Seattle Seahawks overwhelmed the Chargers’ defense early, scoring 17 points in the first quarter. Even though they gave up 23 points, the Chargers didn’t score in the first and third quarters. The player of the game in our opinion is Kenneth Walker III, who put up 168 yards and two touchdowns.
The Los Angeles Chargers had a three-game winning streak going as they headed into this game. It was shattered by Geno Smith and the Seahawks offense. Now, they’ll head into the bye week and go over what exactly went wrong. When they come out of it they have two back-to-back road games.
