Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder Preview and Predictions

The Phoenix Suns head to OKC to Battle With the Thunder

At the time of writing, the Phoenix Suns are 61-14 for the season, leading the West. At this point, the conference is theirs. Just a few more games need to be played to lock up the top spot for sure. One of these games is versus the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention. So, will this be an easy win for the Suns? Or could we potentially see an upset on Sunday?

The Thunder actually claimed a pretty big win over the Portland Trail Blazers a few nights ago. However, bad news came with the win as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has now been ruled out for the season. Gilgeous-Alexander has missed the last four games for the Thunder, but they had hoped to have him back. Unfortunately, he’ll be out of the lineup in their game against Phoenix.

Game Preview: Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder, April 3

The Phoenix Suns and the duo of Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker are nearly unstoppable. At the time of writing, the Suns have won eight straight games on their road to the playoffs. One of their most recent ones was a 114-104 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Being able to beat the 76ers that easily speaks volumes. Phoenix also has the third-best scoring offense in the NBA.

The Oklahoma City Thunder don’t have a flashy offense or a lot of wins under their belt. Still, they’ve found ways to pull off upsets in the past. We mentioned their recent one over the Trail Blazers, but they also have a win over the Nuggets as well. The Denver Nuggets are somewhat similar to the Phoenix Suns. The Thunder will likely try to use that game as a guide for this one.

Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Prediction

These two teams last faced each other in late February of this year. The Suns came into the game as 10.5-point favorites and won 124-104, easily covering. We can expect a similar spread in this game as well, perhaps even larger. We also expect the Suns to cover in tonight’s game as well. We’ve seen the teams that the Suns can beat easily, and the Thunder is one of them.

Over their last three games against the Thunder, the Suns have gone 2-1 against the spread. At the time of writing, they’ve gone 7-1 ATS in their last eight games. This team is great at covering spreads, even on the road. So far, the Suns are 23-13 ATS when playing on the road. Phoenix is a team you can trust to cover large spreads even if they aren’t playing at home.

The total in this game is an interesting one because we believe it’s likely to go under. In most of their recent games, the total has gone over, though. We’re taking the under because we feel the total will be raised because of previous games.
