The Houston Rockets Play Host to the Sacramento Kings 

For two straight games, the Sacramento Kings will face the Houston Rockets. Each game will happen on the Rockets’ home court, a disadvantage for the Kings. However, if Sacramento can win these two games, they could get closer to the 10th-seed in the West. The first game will take place on Wednesday. However, we’re going to focus on the game happening Friday.

The Houston Rockets have been eliminated from playoff contention, but they won’t end the season without a fight. This team has a fairly potent offense, considering how many games they’ve won. If they can get a lead over the Kings, they could come away with a win here. Although the spreads haven’t been released, let’s look at what we can expect in this one.

The Sacramento Kings rank 15th in the NBA in points per game, averaging 110.52. Recently, they’ve claimed two wins over the Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers. Although those aren’t great teams, it shows the Kings moving in the right direction. They can use those games as a guide against the Rockets. The only difference is the Rockets’ offense can be pretty lethal. 

The Rockets have put together a few wins of their own recently, both against the Trail Blazers. In two straight games, Houston beat Portland, 125-106 and 115-98. As we noted above, the Rockets have a strong offense even though they haven’t won many games. Their weakest point is their defense, which allows 117.63 points per game, the worst in the NBA.

Sacramento Kings at Houston Rockets Betting Prediction

Over the last three games, the Sacramento Kings are 2-1 when playing the Rockets. However, in the most recent game, the Rockets emerged victoriously. They came into the game as 4.5-point underdogs and won 118-112. The Rockets were actually the road team in that game as well. We can likely expect the spread to be similar in this game, maybe slightly smaller.

At home, the Houston Rockets are 11-25 this season, one of the worst home records in the NBA. Considering both of these games will be played at home we have to consider that. Houston also has a worse record at covering the spread when playing at home as well. At the time of writing, Houston has a 14-22 ATS record when playing games at home. 

Because of this, we’ll take the Sacramento Kings to win and cover the spread. On January 14, 2022, the Kings played the Rockets and beat them, 126-114. We believe that this game will look similar to that one. The Kings are also known to go over the total, and with Houston’s defense, the over is the best bet.
