Spurs Travel to Washington to Face the Wizards Friday Night

Friday night will see two teams desperate to make it into the top ten of their conferences. The San Antonio Spurs and the Washington Wizards are on the outside looking in.

Being on the bubble can be difficult, but it gives teams, even more to play for. The Spurs have been able to grab some big wins in recent weeks, but the Wizards won’t go down easily. 

The Washington Wizards are hoping to have Kristaps Porzingis available for Friday. However, if he remains out, they’ll have to work around missing their star center.

He was acquired in a recent trade with the Dallas Mavericks. If he is able to play, this game could swing in favor of the Wizards. Let’s go over both teams and see if we can predict the winner at the sportsbook.

The San Antonio Spurs have had their troubles this season, but they’re a top-ten offense. On average, the Spurs are putting up 111.8 points per game

They’re led by Dejounte Murray, who averages 19.9 points per game. Although the Spurs might not have the best record, they’re definitely building towards something. Players like Murray only increase their odds to win. 

The Washington Wizards have their own way of doing things and recently won a crucial game over the Brooklyn Nets. Offensively, they’re quite underwhelming, though, averaging just 107.05 points per game.

Shooting from beyond the arc is another trouble the Wizards have. This season, their percentage from the three-point line is at 32.83%, one of the worst in the NBA. 

San Antonio Spurs at Washington Wizards Betting Prediction

The Spurs are likely going to look to stretch the court against the Washington Wizards on Friday. They know how poorly they shoot from beyond the arc, so forcing them to the perimeter is their best bet.

It’s also important to note that in their last ten meetings, the Spurs are 8-2 against the Wizards. Against the spread, the Spurs are 6-4 in their last ten against the Washington Wizards.

Washington is currently 13-16-1 against the spread when playing at home. The Spurs have the opposite ATS record when playing on the road at 16-13-1.

Between these two teams, the Spurs have a sizeable advantage in terms of scoring. Their defense, however, could be a problem. San Antonio allows 111.66 points per game, one of the worst in the NBA.
