NHL Look Ahead for Thursday, Jan. 20, and Friday, Jan. 21, 2022
Another week, another slate of NHL games to preview. We are getting towards the All-Star Game, and the NHL is getting hotter as we get closer to the end of the regular season. Today, we are going to dissect five games later this week, so we can make a lot of money targeting some key hockey matchups.
Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins; Thursday, Jan. 20
The Ottawa Senators will be traveling to the PPG Paints Arena on Thursday to face the Pittsburgh Penguins, and these teams are actually closer than you think.
The Penguins are scoring 3.22 goals per game compared to the Senators averaging 2.84 goals per game this season. Right winger Drake Batherson has been playing well this season with 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists) and has nine points in his last seven games.
All in all, I do not expect this game to be as one-sided so go with the Ottawa Senators to cover the puck line.Â
St Louis Blues @ Seattle Kraken; Friday, Jan. 21 9:00pm CST
In a battle of two teams that are on opposite sides of the standings, the St Louis Blues will head to the Climate Pledge Arena to take on the Seattle Kraken. Looking at the defense, it’s completely one-sided as St Louis is averaging 2.71 goals allowed per game while Seattle is giving up 3.65 goals per game so far.
Center Jordan Kyrou has been incredible this season with 39 points (14 goals, 25 assists) and should dominate. The Blues are 21-17 against the spread this season compared to the Kraken being just 16-22 against the spread.
Go with the St. Louis Blues to cover the puck line on the road against an inferior team.
