NFL Week 16 Outlook; Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021
There are three weeks remaining in the NFL regular season. The season has flown by, but we still have some time to capitalize on betting before the playoffs arise. Week 16 has some tremendous betting opportunities, so let’s start preparing.
Here is your Week 16 betting outlook.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be looking to bounce back against the Carolina Panthers this Sunday. The Bucs are coming off of a loss in New Orleans, and they lost wide receiver Chris Godwin to a torn ACL against the Saints on Thursday night. Wide receiver Mike Evans is week-to-week with a hamstring injury as well.
With three of their top players possibly out for the season, the Bucs offense will be much different and more difficult to predict without them. But what we do know is that they will still be heavily favored against Carolina this Sunday at home, and they need outside help if they want to secure homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.
Carolina Panthers Haven’t Covered
Carolina has dropped nine of 11 games since its 3-0 start, including losses in each of the past four weeks. The Panthers fell 31-14 at the Bills last week as the offense continues to sputter. Cam Newton completed under 50 percent of his passes for 156 yards, one touchdown and one interception and a rushing touchdown. Both Carolina scoring drives started inside Buffalo territory.
Yes, this is a heavy line and Tampa is banged up. We just haven’t seen enough from the Carolina offense to indicate they can cover. The Panthers haven’t covered the spread in any of their nine losses.
Buccaneers vs Panthers Predictions for Week 16
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a rough loss to the New Orleans Saints. Tom Brady was shut out for the first time in 255 consecutive starts in the 9-0 loss to the divisional foe.
Tampa Bay is looking to bounce back, and it’s hard to bet against Brady after a loss. Brady is still one of the best quarterbacks in the league at this point. I like him a lot against Carolina Panthers Cam Newton, who is not a good quarterback.
Tampa Bay is still -10.5 on the road, but I cannot bet on Cam Newton. 60% of bettors like the Buccaneers over the Panthers, who are 5-9 SU and ATS.
