Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets Preview and Predictions

Toronto Raptors Travels to Brooklyn to Face the Nets

The Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets are neck and neck in terms of Eastern Conference standings. The Raptors have a slight lead on the Nets and currently have the No.7 spot.

In order to keep it that way, they’ll need to get a win over the Nets on Monday night. Considering the injuries to the Nets lineup, it’s a realistic shot. The Nets won’t go down without a fight, though.

Brooklyn was able to acquire a few key players when they traded James Harden to the Sixers. One of these players was Ben Simmons, who has yet to make his debut as a Nets player.

The All-Star break could’ve given him the time he needed to rest, but his availability remains questionable. Could he finally make an appearance in the game against the Toronto Raptors?

Game Preview: Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets February 28th

The Toronto Raptors don’t have the most flashy team in the NBA, but they’re quite good. At the time of this article, the Raptors are 32-25 and have the 10th best defense in the NBA.

Their defense is rather important because they’ll need it against the Brooklyn Nets. They’ll also likely have Fred VanVleet back in their lineup, which is incredible news for their struggling offense.

The Brooklyn Nets injury list continues to grow, but they have a few players pulling the team along. Seth Curry and Andre Drummond are two of these players, key parts of the Nets trade with the Sixers.

Hopefully, both Curry and Drummond will get some help from their teammate Ben Simmons. If not, the Nets are in for a very long game against Siakam and the Raptors.

Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets Betting Prediction

When these two teams last faced off, the Toronto Raptors were +3.5 points. The final score of the game was 129-131, with the Nets as the victor. It was an incredibly high-scoring game, but the Raptors still covered the spread.

The spread will likely be pretty similar here; however, the Raptors could come in as the favorite. This would be due to the injuries to the Brooklyn Nets.

If the Raptors come in as favorites, it’ll be by a small margin. When playing on the road, the Raptors have gone 17-10-1 against the spread this year.

In comparison, the Nets are 6-21-1 against the spread when playing at home. Based on this and the injuries to the Nets, we believe the Raptors are the best bet here. Especially if Fred VanVleet is cleared to play.

Toronto has a great record in their last ten games against the Nets. They’ve gone 6-4 straight up and 6-4 against the spread. With Kevin Durant sidelined, the Nets come in at a massive disadvantage.

Take the Toronto Raptors against the spread with the total going over. After their most recent game, the total is very likely to go over in this one.
