Game Preview: Utah Jazz at Phoenix Suns February 25th

Two teams that are leaders in the Western Conference face off on Sunday night. The Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns both are looking to get a key win that will give them some breathing room.

The Jazz, currently No.4 in the conference, could use some separation from the Dallas Mavericks. Unfortunately, they’re facing the best team in the Western Conference on Sunday.

The Phoenix Suns will hope to continue tightening their grip on the Western Conference. In order to do so, they’ll have to take down a team they could face in the NBA Playoffs.

The Utah Jazz won’t go down easy, especially with Donovan Mitchell leading the team. One of the biggest questions we have is how much Phoenix will be favored by and whether or not they can cover.

This is going to be a battle of two incredible offenses. On one side, you have the third-best scoring offense in the NBA, the Utah Jazz. Utah averages 113.74 points per game and shoots over 30% from beyond the arc.

How they plan to defend the Phoenix Suns is what we’re most interested in. Their defense is in the top ten, but that didn’t stop them from losing to the Lakers. 

The Phoenix Suns seem as if they’re incapable of losing. They went on a seven-game winning streak before the All-Star break. Their offense ranks just behind the Utah Jazz in terms of points per game.

Putting up 113.66 points per game, the Phoenix Suns are in control of the Western Conference. However, the Utah Jazz definitely poses a threat to Devin Booker and the Suns.

The first thing we’ll need to see is the spread in this game. The Phoenix Suns will likely be favored, but not by very many points. This is great news for bettors because a smaller spread will be easier to cover.

These two teams always play each other really well; over the last ten games, the Suns are 6-4. Over their last three games, the Suns have gone 3-0 and 2-1 ATS. 

As long as the spread is within three points, we’d take the Suns in this one. They’ve been unstoppable this season, and they’re playing at home.

This season, the Suns have lost only five games at home, a record of 26-5. The Jazz, on the other hand, is 15-12 when playing on the road. They’ve also been pretty unreliable against the spread this season, going 26-31-1. 

When it comes to taking the over or under on this game, the choice becomes tough. Over the last ten meetings, the total has gone over five times. The Phoenix Suns are 29-29 against the total, an even .500.

However, taking both of these offenses into account, we’ll take the over. Both Utah and Phoenix have potent offenses; we think Phoenix and the over is the best pick.
