NHL Look Ahead: Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 7pm CST

The NHL is back in full swing after pausing the season for a little over a week. Today, we are going to highlight five different games later in the week and discuss where we should be betting and explain why that should be the lean.

Let’s take a deeper look into each franchise to determine how to make a profit.

We will take a look at the Washington Capitals vs St. Louis Blues.

Washington Capitals Travel to St. Louis to Face the Blues Friday Night

Washington has been rested as they have not played since Sunday, while St. Louis played on Wednesday. Both franchises are playing well in the first half of the regular season, but instead of betting on the spread, the over seems to be a great play here. The Capitals are scoring 3.44 goals per game, while the Blues are averaging 3.45 goals.

Both Ilya Samsonov and Jordan Binnington have been doing decent but not great inside of the net, so the goals should sprinkle in. The over is 18-14 for the Capitals at .500 for the Blues so go with the OVER here to hit.  With both of these teams scoring on average over 3 goals per game, this should be an easy win.

The NHL is heating up after the short break due to Covid. This should be a great matchup to watch on Thursday night.
