NFL Week 11 Recap
The eleventh week of the NFL was full of action, along with a few upsets. Certain games that were considered “locks” ended up falling through the cracks, while others went according to plan.
Let’s take a look at some of our favorite games of the week during this NFL Week 11 recap.
Detroit Lions vs. New York Giants – 31-18 (Lions)
Perhaps the most shocking win of the day was the Detroit Lions’ win over the New York Giants. The Lions weren’t heavy underdogs, but we definitely didn’t think they’d win by this much.
Jared Goff didn’t do much, putting up just 165 passing yards. The Lions’ defense, however, came in clutch, forcing three turnovers.
It’s back to the drawing board for the New York Giants. By the end of the third quarter, they were down 24-6 in their home stadium. It wasn’t an ideal loss, but it might’ve been the spark they needed going forward.
They still have a 7-3 record and can get into the playoffs; they just can’t afford more losses like that.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings – 40-3 (Cowboys)
The blowout of the week took place in the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings. Beating the Vikings 40-3, the Dallas Cowboys put up 23 points in the first half.
It was their defense that really put its thumb on the Vikings’ offense, though. With such a strong performance, expect the Cowboys to come out with a lot of energy this week.
The Minnesota Vikings were reminded that a seven-game win streak can be snapped easily. They were underprepared and didn’t respond well to the Cowboys getting an early lead.
At the beginning of the second quarter, the score was still 10-3. They had plenty of chances to get back into it and failed. The good news is they’ll be back on the field this Thursday.
