NFL Week 16 Recap

We are seeing many teams getting ready for the playoffs as we head into the final weeks of the NFL regular season. Some teams are starting to take the lead, while others fall into the background.

This next week, there are many games that are up in the air. You never know what will happen heading into each game. Many times, the underdogs can surprise you and come out ahead.

The dust has finally settled on a Christmas weekend Week 16 in the NFL. There are still five playoff spots still up for grabs, as we head into week 17. For now, let’s take a look at your week 16 recap. 

The Brock Purdy Express (20-37 49ers) 

Only two quarterbacks in the history of the NFL have started their careers with multiple touchdown passes and a passer rating over 100 in their first three starts. Those two are Dan Marino and Brock Purdy.

Having to go to a third-string rookie quarterback who was the last player drafted was supposed to sink the 49ers’ season. Instead, it has accelerated it. No team is playing better than San Francisco right now. And, thanks to Purdy and a great defense, the 49ers easily covered the spread in their 37-20 win over the Commanders.

Jimmy Garoppolo got the cast off his broken foot this week. However, there is no rush to get him back and no reason to go with anyone else at quarterback. This is Brock Purdy’s team.
