The Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings are two of the most exciting teams in the NFL. Furthermore, they’re set to face off in Week 5 in a matchup. All in all, this matchup could have playoff implications. In the end, the Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champions, and they’re looking to get back to their winning ways. The Vikings are finally off the losing streak after winning their first game of the season last week, and they’re looking to build on that momentum.
Mahomes Leads Chiefs
The Chiefs are led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is one of the most talented players in the NFL. Mahomes has thrown for 1,123 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions in four games. He’s also been a good runner, with 107 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
The Chiefs’ running game has been one of their weaknesses this season, as they’re averaging just 102.3 yards per game on the ground. Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been the Chiefs’ lead back, but he’s been struggling to find his rhythm this season.
Chief’s Defense Wins Them Games
The Chiefs’ defense has been one of the best in the NFL so far this season. They’re allowing just 17.3 points per game, which is fifth in the league. They’ve also forced 10 turnovers, which is tied for the second-most in the league.
Cousins Heads Viking’s Offense
The Vikings are led by quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is a solid quarterback but not a superstar. Cousins has thrown for 1,021 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions in four games. He’s also been a good runner, with 98 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Viking’s Running Game
The Vikings’ running game has been one of their strengths this season, as they’re averaging 130.8 yards per game on the ground. Dalvin Cook has been the Vikings’ lead back, and he’s been one of the most consistent running backs in the NFL so far this season.
The Vikings’ defense has been one of their weaknesses this season, as they’re allowing 26.0 points per game, which is 27th in the league. They’ve also forced just six turnovers, which is tied for the fewest in the league.
Chiefs vs Vikings Week 5 Prediction
This is a tough game to predict, as the Chiefs and Vikings are both talented teams. However, I think the Chiefs have a slight edge in this matchup. The Chiefs have a better offense than the Vikings, and their defense is just as good. I think the Chiefs will be able to win this game by a score of 31-24.
Pick: Chiefs 31, Vikings 24
Important Game MatchupsÂ
- Chief’s Patrick Mahomes vs. Vikings defense: Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and he’s going to be a tough challenge for the Vikings defense. The Vikings have a good defense, but they’re not as good as the defenses that Mahomes has faced so far this season.
- Justin Jefferson vs. Chiefs defense: Jefferson is one of the best receivers in the NFL, and he’s going to be a tough cover for the Chiefs defense. The Chiefs have a good secondary, but they’re not as good as the secondaries that Jefferson has faced so far this season.
The Chiefs vs. Vikings game in Week 5 is one of the most anticipated games of the season. All in all, both teams have the potential to be Super Bowl contenders, and this game could be a preview of a playoff matchup. In the end, I think that the Vikings have a chance to win, yet I am going to pick the Chiefs this week. They have been coming to play this season and we think they will do it again this week.
