NFL Week 8 Recap
The eighth week of the NFL was full of action, along with a few upsets. Certain games that were considered “locks” ended up falling through the cracks, while others went according to plan. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite games of the week during this NFL Week 8 recap.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Philadelphia Eagles – 35-13 (Eagles)
This game was an awful one for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who lost 35-13. Kenny Pickett, the starting quarterback for Pittsburgh, passed for 191 yards and an interception. Their defense had no answer for the onslaught of the Philadelphia Eagles offense. Falling to 2-6 on the season, the Steelers will face the New Orleans Saints next week.
The Philadelphia Eagles are still undefeated after Week 8. With a 7-0 record, this team is finding ways to win in various ways. Jalen Hurts passed for 285 yards and four touchdowns in his Week 8 outing, leading them to another win. In Week 9, the Eagles will face the Houston Texans, a team they should easily beat.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams – 31-14 (49ers)
The San Francisco 49ers are likely the best team in the NFC West. In Week 8, they pulled off an impressive 31-14 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 235 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s game. Recent addition Christian McCaffrey rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown as well. This was definitely a huge win for the 49ers.
The Los Angeles Rams are now 3-4 on the season, and many think they can’t bounce back. It’s been a tough year for the Rams, to be sure, especially last week. They still had a chance to win this game at the start of the fourth quarter. However, the Rams’ offense seemed deflated, like they had already lost the game.
