NCAA Basketball Associated Press Top 25 Update

The AP Top 25 poll for men’s college basketball is officially available. There was a lot of movement this week compared to previous weeks, and we have our first back-to-back week of change at the top since Baylor took over the top spot six weeks ago.

There was also quite a bit of movement within the Top 10, and we also saw some big drops, and two new programs entered the fray this week. We take a look at all of that and more below in this week’s AP Poll Top 25 Update.

What Were Other Notable Moves Made This Week?

Kentucky held at #12 this week even after a loss to Auburn. Texas Tech moved up to #13 and saw a rise of five spots to get there. Villanova fell three spots to #14, and USC was bumped up one spot to #15.

Ohio State has been able to play some consistent basketball over the past month as they have now worked their way up to #16 after bumping up three spots this week. Providence and Tennessee also made some big rises up the polls as Providence moved up four spots to #17, and Tennessee moved up six spots to take over the #18 spot.

LSU fell to #19 and dropped six spots this week as their struggles have continued. UConn moved up to #20 from #25 as they raised five spots in the polls this week.

Xavier dropped one spot to #21, and both Iowa State and Illinois were the biggest fallers of the week. Iowa State dropped to #23 in the country after being #15 a week ago, and Illinois fell to #24 from #17.

Marquette enters the poll at #22, and Davidson enters the Top 25 at the very end. They were the benefactors of Loyola-Chicago and Texas dropping out from the poll this past week.
