Wimbledon 2023 has come and gone and we were left with some unexpected winners this year. Overall, there were some great matches that were played that kept all of us on our toes. In the end, it was another great tournament, and we are looking forward to all the action next year at Wimbledon 2024.

Women’s Finals Recap

This year, there was an unexpected woman that rose to the challenge of one of the biggest tournaments in the world. Ultimately, Marketa Vondrousova was able to take home the title for the first time in her career. To do so, she had to beat Ons Jabeur in the final. Vondousova was unranked, but came up the ranks to beat one of the best tennis players there is. All in all, she gained her first of potentially more grand slam titles.

Men’s Finals Recap

As for the men’s tournament this year, there was also a lot of action. The final was a nail bitter, and ultimately, Carlos Alvarez took home the Wimbledon 2023 title. To win, he had to defeat the four-time Wimbledon Champion, Novak Djokovic. He was able to defeat him in a five-set thriller. After the match point, Alcarex fell to the ground and covered his eyes in disbelief. He is sure to remember this moment for years to come. All in all, this is his first Wimbledon title but he holds just one other grand slam title. He was also the winner of the 2022 US Open.

All in all, Wimbledon 2023 has been one for the books. There is no denying that history has been made here. We look forward to seeing more tennis action in the future at Wimbledon and other major tennis tournaments.
