Wizards at Trail Blazers Preview and Predictions

The Trail Blazers Hope to Right the Ship Against the Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards are only a few games behind the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference. If they can get a win over the Trail Blazers, they’ll have a chance to move up. Unfortunately, they haven’t done too well on the road this season. As of writing, the Wizards have won only twelve road games. Still, they might have a shot to win this one against Portland.

The Trail Blazers have been on quite the rough stretch lately, and things aren’t looking good. They’re continuing to plummet in the Western Conference and are now at the No.11 spot. They were passed up by the New Orleans Pelicans and have lost five straight games at the time of writing. If they want any chance at a playoff berth, they’ll need to right the ship in Portland.

Game Preview: Washington Wizards at Portland Trail Blazers March 11th

The Wizards have done well in recent games at putting points on the board. As a team, they average 108.11 points per game, the problem is consistency. They’ve also had some struggles on defense lately, which has led to them losing games. If they can right these issues, they could beat the Trail Blazers. If Raul Neto is cleared to play, they’ll have a better chance.

Neto is currently on the “day-to-day” list but is expected to play by Saturday. The Trail Blazers are dealing with quite a lot of injuries themselves. To name a few, Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow, and Anfernee Simons. If these players are ruled out for Portland, they’ll find themselves in danger of losing another game. One more loss and they could fall even further in the West.

Washington Wizards at Portland Trail Blazers Betting Prediction

In the last game between these two teams, the Wizards were actually favored to win. The game took place on January 15th, 2022, and the Wizards lost 110-115. The spread in this game could be similar because of the injuries to Portland’s lineup. Because of this, we’d feel more confident taking the Wizards to cover this time. Especially if Raul Neto makes his way back to the lineup.

Neither of these teams has been reliable at the sportsbook, but Washington has a slight edge. They’re dealing with less significant injuries and have their leading scorer available. Kyle Kuzma has taken a leadership role within the team and averages 17.2 points per game. If he can have a good performance on Saturday, we have faith the Washington Wizards can cover the spread.

Betting on the total here is tough due to the injuries reported. However, neither of these teams has a strong defense, so we’d lean towards the over. In their last ten games against each other, the total has gone over six times.
