Washington Wizards Travel to San Francisco to Face the Warriors

The Wizards have had trouble staying healthy and playing consistently this season. However, they’ve found ways to get a few wins under their belt. Unfortunately, they’re also facing one of the best teams in the NBA on Monday.

The bright side in their case is that the Warriors are dealing with a ton of injuries. Can they capitalize on them and sneak a surprise upset here?

The Golden State Warriors are still without their leading defender, Draymond Green. Without him, their interior has been battered and bruised all year. This has allowed other teams to get wins over them and knocked the Warriors to the No.3 spot.

As of writing, Draymond Green is still ruled out for this game. Without him in the lineup, the Warriors might have a tough game.

The Washington Wizards have a pretty good offense, even if they’ve only won 29 games. They rank 21st in the NBA in terms of scoring, averaging 108.11 points per game. The real question here is, can they avoid being stretched out by the Warriors’ offense.

This year, the Wizards haven’t been good on defense, allowing 110.68 points per game. Odds are they’ll struggle here.

The Golden State Warriors have one of the top ten offenses in the NBA, but their shooting is key here. They can stretch the floor against the Wizards and get open looks. On defense, the only player the Warriors need to watch out for is PF Kyle Kuzma.

If Draymond Green was in the lineup, this would be an easier game for Golden State. However, it’s not that simple this time.

Washington Wizards at Golden State Warriors Betting Prediction

These two teams haven’t played each other since April of 2021. When they last played, the Warriors pulled off a surprising 118-114 win. The Wizards were only two-point underdogs because the Warriors were suffering from so many injuries.

Expect the spread to swing heavily in favor of the Golden State Warriors here. The Warriors are also 27-7 when playing at home.

Because of this, we’ll still take the Warriors to win this game at home against Washington. They’ve gone 6-4 against the Wizards over their last ten meetings and should cover regardless of injuries.

The spread in this game also shouldn’t be too large considering all of the injuries dealt to the Warriors. Between these two, the Warriors are the much better pick on Monday.

When betting on the total, we’d take both injuries and the Wizards defense into account. The Wizards’ defense might not be great, but they kept the Nets to 112 points before. We expect this game to go under the total, with the Warriors covering at home.
