Here’s an overview of some of the top games in sports being played on April 18, 2022. Today, we’re taking a closer look at five games from the NHL, MLB, and NBA.

Ottawa Senators vs. Seattle Kraken

This game takes place between two teams that have already been eliminated from playoff contention. The Senators, fresh off of a loss to Toronto, head to Seattle to face the Kraken. Although the Senators average just 2.71 goals per game, it’s still more than the Kraken do. However, due to the similarities between these teams, it could be a fun one to watch.

The Kraken just beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 and are looking to claim another win. To do this, the Kraken will need to get through the Ottawa defense and put up a lot of shots on goal. The Senators allow an average of 3.23 goals against them each game. Seattle comes in as a narrow -120 favorite here and we’d take them to win this one.

Dallas Stars at Vancouver Canucks

The final game of the night is between the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks. Each of these teams is still fighting for a playoff spot, so this game is very important. At 43-27-5, the Stars have a much better record than the Canucks, and are 3-2 in their last five. However, you can’t forget that the Canucks have been on fire lately.

Winning five of their last five games, the Canucks are trying to earn their spot in the playoffs. They have a record of 37-28-10 and will look to increase their winning streak to six in a row. They average more goals per game than the Stars at 2.95 and fewer goals against at 2.77. We like Vancouver to win this game -105.

San Francisco Giants at New York Mets

This could easily be the most entertaining game of the day. The San Francisco Giants, currently 7-2, face the 7-3 New York Mets today. Each of these teams has had a fast start to the season and the Giants have won five straight games. Brandon Belt leads the batters for San Francisco with an impressive .345 batting average. On the mound for San Francisco is the 1-0 Alex Cobb.

Cobb has thrown 10 strikeouts in just five innings pitched, as one of the Giants’ best pitchers. Facing Cobb tonight is the 2-0 Tylor Megill, who is one of the Mets’ best pitchers. This is going to be a pitching battle, where the first to make a mistake could be the one who loses. The Mets leading batter is Jeff McNeil who has a .344 batting average.

Utah Jazz at Dallas Mavericks

The Jazz took Game One of the first round series with a 99-93 win in Dallas. Donovan Mitchell posted a game-high 32 points in the effort while Rudy Gobert’s 17 rebounds and three blocks were key in slowing down the Mavericks’ offense.

Dallas was 29-12 at home in the regular season and has not lost back-to-back home games since December 3-7, where they lost three games against the Pelicans, Grizzlies, and Nets. Meanwhile, the Jazz are 20-21 on the road. Still, with Luka Doncic doubtful to play, taking the Jazz at -5.5 on the road seems like the savvy play before the line moves much further.

Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers surged to a 131-111 victory at home to take a 1-0 series lead on Saturday. Tyrese Maxey popped off for 38 points, his highest total in any game this season. Toronto is also dealing with a slew of injuries and illnesses, as Thaddeus Young, Scottie Barnes, and Gary Trent Jr. are all doubtful to play Monday.

Philadelphia is a seven-point favorite at home, and if Game One was any indication, the 76ers should cover again.
