Here’s an overview of some of the top games in sports being played on May 6. Today, we’re taking a closer look at five games from the NHL and Major League Baseball.

Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers – 7:00 PM ET

Beginning our day of sports bets is the Miami Heat versus the Philadelphia 76ers. The Heat, already up 2-0 in this series, will head out to take on the 76ers without Joel Embiid. They’ve made easy work of the 76ers so far and only come in as three-point favorites here. Kyle Lowry has been ruled out for Miami in this contest, so keep that in mind.

You should also keep in mind that the Heat has played incredible defense so far. The question is, without Lowry, will their defense take a step back? The 76ers are still missing Embiid so it seems each team is without a great player. Today, we’ll put a little faith in Philadelphia and take them +3 over the Heat.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7:30 PM ET

The series between these two teams are currently tied at 1-1. Toronto won the first game of the series 5-0, then took a 5-3 loss. To get back on track the Maple Leafs will need to focus on their defense. During the regular season, the Leafs defense allowed 3.07 goals per game.

The Tampa Bay Lightning bounced back after a shutout loss to win Game 2. Now that they’re at home, they should have a slight boost over Toronto. Defensively, the Lightning has an advantage over the Maple Leafs. During the season, the Lightning only allowed 2.78 goals per game. Look for Tampa Bay to win Game 3 at home tonight.

Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks – 8:30 PM ET

Bouncing back to basketball, the Phoenix Suns head to Dallas to face the Mavericks. Much like the Miami Heat, the Suns have dominated this series. Their offense proves to be too much for even the defense of the Mavericks. The most recent game was a 129-109 win for the Phoenix Suns. If they can win by 20, we’re sure they can cover the spread tonight.

For Dallas to have any chance at all to win this game, Luka Doncic needs help. In the Game 2 loss, Doncic put up a remarkable 35 points. However, the next closest scorer to him only scored 16, with the third-place scorer at 11 points. With the lack of help, the Mavericks are in a tough spot tonight.

Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks – 9:40 PM ET

Continuing into the night we have the start of a potentially great series. The Colorado Rockies are 15-10 this season, winning four of their last five games. They have the number one batting average in the league at .263. Not only that, they have the second-best on-base percentage at .333 and the best slugging percentage.

The Arizona Diamondbacks aren’t slouching either though. They’ve won four of their last five games bringing their record to 13-13. Although they don’t have nearly the same batting average as the Rockies, they’re holding their own. Unfortunately, they’ll have to face the 3-0 Chad Kuhl, which causes us to take the Rockies.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants – 10:15 PM ET

Our final game of the night is also the final MLB game of the night. The Cardinals, 15-10 this season, are coming off a 7-1 win over the Giants yesterday. However, they could be taking a step back by putting Jordan Hicks on the mound. Hicks is 1-2 this season with an ERA of 3.65 over the course of 12.1 innings pitched.

On the opposite side is Alex Cobb who is 1-1 this season. In terms of batting, the Cardinals and the Giants are eerily similar. This game is going to come down to who has the better pitcher and bullpen. The Giants have lost four of their last five games, but we expect them to win tonight.
