It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Monday’s schedule.

Atlanta Braves vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – 7:05 PM ET

Kicking off our best bets of the day is a game between the Atlanta Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates. The Braves, with a record of 75-48 are close to taking over the NL East. Tonight, they’ll start the 4-5 Jake Odorizzi, who has a 4.15 ERA over 73.2 innings. He’s pretty fresh and he’s backed up by a batting group that has hit .252 this season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are 47-74 after two straight losses to the Cincinnati Reds.

Roansy Contreras will get the start for them tonight with a record of 3-3 and an ERA of 4.02. The Pirates batting isn’t very good either, hitting .221 this season. Keep in mind that the Pirates have a 26-33 record at home and the pick is easy Atlanta Braves -195.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies – 7:05 PM ET

Speaking of the Cincinnati Reds, they’ll begin their series against the Philadelphia Phillies tonight. The Reds are 48-71 this season with a 22-35 record on the road. Over their last five games, the Reds have won three of them, two over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Getting the start today is SP Luis Cessa. Cessa has an ERA of 5.50 and faces some serious competition.

The Philadelphia Phillies are bringing out their best pitcher, Noah Syndergaard tonight. Syndergaard has a record of 7-8 but has a 3.95 ERA over 98 innings. In that time he’s thrown 76 strikeouts and allowed 100 hits. The Phillies also have a strong batting group that has averaged .252 this season. We’ll take the Reds at home -250 over the Reds.

New York Mets vs. New York Yankees – 7:05 PM ET

With a record of 79-44, the New York Mets lead the NL East. Tonight, they face a tough test as the batters from the New York Yankees come to town. The Yankees have a record of 74-48 but have lost three of their last five games. The Mets will start Max Scherzer, who has spent some time on the IL this season. Still, Scherzer has a 9-2 record with a 2.15 ERA in 109 innings.

Scherzer being on the mound for the Mets spells trouble for the Yankees. They haven’t done well this year against strong pitchers and Scherzer is as strong as they come. In more unfortunate news for the Yankees, Domingo German will take the mound. German is 1-2 this season with a 4.45 ERA. After looking at the pitching group, we’ll take the Mets -165.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs – 8:05 PM ET

The 6-3 Jordan Montgomery will take the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals tonight. Montgomery is an incredible pitcher, posting an ERA of 3.29 this season in 131.1 innings. He’s helped the St. Louis Cardinals work their way to first in the NL Central with a 69-51 record. It’s important to remember that the Cardinals also have a team batting average of .258.

The first thing the Cubs need to figure out is how to shut down the Cardinals batters. If they can do that, they might be able to win this game. As a team, they have a batting average of .243 and an on-base percentage of .316. Getting the start tonight is Drew Smyly, who is 5-6 with a 3.67 ERA. It’s a long shot but we’ll take the Cubs at home +143 over the Cardinals.

Miami Marlins vs. Oakland Athletics – 9:40 PM ET

The Miami Marlins have a record of 52-69 this season and are 27-36 on the road. On the mound tonight is Pablo Lopez, who has a 7-8 record and an ERA of 3.83. With Lopez on the mound, the Marlins should do well against the Athletics batters. Their own batting group is averaging .232 with an on-base percentage of .297.

The Oakland Athletics have a record of 45-77 with a home record of 19-39. It’s safe to say that the Athletics are having a lot of trouble when playing at home. Getting the start tonight is Adam Oller, who is 2-5 this season with a 6.63 ERA. With him on the mound, we’ll take the Marlins on the road at -140.
