It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Wednesday’s schedule.
Atlanta Braves vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – 12:35 PM ET
We’ll start our best bets of the day with a game between the Atlanta Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates. Currently, the Braves lead the series 2-0 and will have Kyle Wright on the mound tonight. Wright has an ERA of 3.14 and a record of 15-5 this season, so things are looking good for Atlanta.
The Pittsburgh Pirates haven’t been able to get any kind of advantage on the Braves. Tonight, they have Mitch Keller getting the start at pitcher. Keller has a record of 4-9 this season and an ERA of 4.49. It also doesn’t help that they have a team batting average of .220 compared to Atlanta’s .251. We’ll take the Braves -250 in this one.
Texas Rangers vs. Colorado Rockies – 3:10 PM ET
Neither the Texas Rangers (56-67) or the Colorado Rockies (54-70) have an over .500 record. The first game of this series ended in a 7-6 loss for the Texas Rangers. The 9-4 Martin Perez will take the mound for Texas. With an ERA of 2.80, Perez gives the Rangers the best chance to win.
On the mound for the Rockies today is Jose Urena, who has had a rough season. His 2-4 record and ERA of 4.71 doesn’t give us much confidence. The good news for Colorado is they have one of the best batting averages in the league at .263. Because of this, we’ll take them at home +118 over the Rangers.
Cleveland Guardians vs. San Diego Padres – 4:10 PM ET
The series between the Guardians and Padres began with a Guardians win. They were able to beat the Padres 3-1 and are now looking for win number two. Cal Quantrill, who is 9-5 this season, will get the start at pitcher for the Guardians. Quantrill has an ERA of 3.77 over the course of 136 innings.
The San Diego Padres will send out Blake Snell, who is 5-6 this season. With an ERA of 3.76, Snell should be able to slow down the Guardians’ batters. Considering his own team has a batting average of .240, the Padres are a solid pick here. They come in at -170 and we’ll take them at home over the Guardians.
Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies – 7:05 PM ET
A little later in the evening we’ll see the Cincinnati Reds face the Philadelphia Phillies. The Reds, with a record of 48-73., lost 7-6 to the Phillies last night. That loss brought them down to 0-2 in this series. Getting the start tonight is the 0-2 T.J. Zeuch, who has an ERA of 13.50.
With Zeuch on the mound, it’s no surprise that the Phillies are -250 in this game. They’ll send out Cristopher Sanchez, who is 1-1 with an ERA of 3.80. Sanchez’s ERA might not be great but it’s not nearly as bad as Zeuch’s. With a team batting average of .251, we’ll take the Phillies -250 at home.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs – 8:05 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals have a record of 71-52, ranking first in the NL Central. Tonight, they’ll continue their series against the Chicago Cubs, who they’ve beaten twice. The Cardinals will start Miles Mikolas, the 10-9 RHP with an ERA of 3.32. Mikolas is backed up by a batting group that has an average of .258 this season.
The Chicago Cubs have a record of 53-70 with a 27-37 record at home. On the mound for them tonight is Luke Farrell, who has yet to make a single start this season. His inexperience could be a big problem tonight, especially against the Cardinals batters. We’ll take St. Louis over the Cubs at -220.
