It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Sunday’s schedule.
Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Atlanta Braves – 1:35 PM ET
With a record of 45-55, the Arizona Diamondbacks are working their way back to .500. They’ve won three of their last five games but have lost two in a row to the Atlanta Braves. Considering tonight is the final game of the series, the Diamondbacks need to turn up the heat. They’ll send out the 10-5 Merrill Kelly in hopes that he can get the job done.
Kelly has an ERA of 3.04 over the span of 118.1 innings. His opponent today is Max Fried, the 10-3 pitcher with a 2.73 ERA. It doesn’t help that the Atlanta Braves are one of the best batting teams with an average of .249. With a record of 61-41 and 35-21 at home, the best bet tonight is the Atlanta Braves -235.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Washington Nationals – 1:35 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals are tied in their series with the Washington Nationals at 1-1. Yesterday, the Cardinals lost by one run after being unable to score in the ninth inning. Tonight, Andre Pallante will get the nod to start the game. Pallante has a record of 3-4 this season with an ERA of 3.53. Relying on their batters will help out a lot since the Cardinals are batting .252.
The Washington Nationals are no stranger to success at the plate this season. WIth a team batting average of .247, the Nationals could come away with a win here. Swinging us even more in the direction of the Nationals is SP Josiah Gray. Although he has an ERA of 4.45, he has a 7-6 record this season. This is a tough call but we’ll take the Nationals +100.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Cincinnati Reds – 1:40 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles have a record of 51-50 this season after last night’s loss to the Cincinnati Reds. Tonight is their final game of the series with it currently tied at 1-1. Leading off on the mound tonight is Austin Voth, the 1-1 RHP with an ERA of 3.38 this season. As a team, the Orioles are batting .234, ranking 25th in Major League Baseball.
The Cincinnati Reds have a team batting average of .241, which helped them win last night. The problem for them is who they’ll have on the mound tonight. Getting the start is Nick Lodolo, who is 3-3 with a 4.73 ERA this season. Although batting is important, the team with the best pitcher usually grabs the win. We’ll take the Baltimore Orioles +105 tonight.
Oakland Athletics vs. Chicago White Sox – 2:10 PM ET
This afternoon game could be quite entertaining with the series tied at 1-1. The Athletics, fresh off of a 3-2 loss actually started the series with a 7-3 win. Adam Oller will get the start for the Athletics tonight, which will be a big problem. Oller has a record of 1-3 this season and an awful ERA of 8.07. This puts the Athletics at a massive disadvantage tonight.
The Chicago White Sox are 50-50 this season, sitting perfectly at .500. To eclipse the .500 mark they’ll need to get a win tonight over the Athletics. Tasked with this is one of the White Sox’s best pitchers, Dylan Cease. Cease has a record of 10-4 this season with a 2.03 ERA. Between these two, the White Sox are easily the best pick at -292.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies – 3:10 PM ET
The final game we’ll look at is an NL West game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies. The Dodgers have a record of 67-33 after a 5-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies last night. In an effort to bounce back from their loss, the Dodgers will start Tony Gonsolin, who is 11-1 this season. With an ERA of 2.26, Gonsolin gives the Dodgers the best chance to win.
The Colorado Rockies have a record of 46-56 and are 30-26 at home. Although they’re trying to climb up in the NL West, they’ve lost three of their last five games. The Rockies will send out German Marquez, who is 6-8 this season with an ERA of 5.25. With Marquez on the mound, the Dodgers are the better pick tonight at -190.
