It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Wednesday’s schedule.

Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics – 3:37 PM ET

To kick off our MLB best bets of the day, we’ll start with the Houston Astros at Oakland Athletics. The Astros are 32-18 this season and have won three games in a row. Their most recent win was against the Athletics yesterday, 3-1. After winning two straight games against Oakland, Houston is going for their third. They’ll have the 6-2 Justin Verlander on the mound today.

The Athletics are going to attempt to slow down Houston by starting the 2-2 Cole Irvin. Irvin has an incredible ERA of 3.15 in 40 innings pitched. However, it doesn’t quite compare to Verlander’s 2.03 ERA over the course of 57.2 innings. The Astros also have a slight advantage in terms of batting. With that being said, we’ll take the road team to win this one -220.

San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies – 6:05 PM ET

The next game we’ll take a look at is the San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies. The Giants are another team that has won three straight games, two against the Phillies. In the 11th inning yesterday, the Giants pulled out a 7-4 win over Philadelphia. On the mound tonight is the 4-4 Carlos Rodon. Although he’s not their best, he’ll have to do against the Phillies tonight.

Philadelphia has had a rough last five games, losing all of them. With an 0-5 record in their last five games, the Phillies need something positive. On the mound tonight is the 2-2 Aaron Nola, Nola has an ERA of 3.56. Nola’s ERA is slightly better than Rodon’s, so be sure to keep that in mind. We’ll go with the Phillies -125 to secure a win at home tonight.

Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees – 7:05 PM ET

Perhaps the most entertaining game of the day is this one. The Los Angeles Angels, 27-23, taking on the 34-15 New York Yankees. The Angels have lost their last six games and their most recent loss was to the Yankees. In that game, they allowed nine runs while only scoring one. With that kind of performance, it’s no surprise that they’ve lost six games in a row.

Reid Detmers, the 2-2 LHP for the Angels will take the mound tonight. He’ll face Nestor Cortes of the New York Yankees, Cortes has a 4-1 record this season. Perhaps more impressive is Cortes’ ERA of 1.70, one of the best in MLB. With the Yankees having an advantage in pitching and batting, we’ll take New York tonight.

Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers – 7:10 PM ET

Beginning shortly after the game we mentioned above is the game between the Twins and Tigers. The Minnesota Twins are 30-21 this season and rank first in the AL Central. The Tigers are fourth in the AL Central with a record of 19-30. Through the last three games of this series, the Twins have lost two of them. The most recent game was a 4-0 loss in favor of Detroit.

On the mound for the Twins tonight will be Bailey Ober, who has a 1-1 record. Detroit will send out Tarik Skubal, who is 3-2 this season with an ERA of 2.44. Detroit definitely has the advantage in terms of pitching today. However, in terms of batting, the Twins have a sizable advantage with a team batting average of .248. We’ll take the Twins -120 in this one.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Texas Rangers – 8:05 PM ET

Our final game of the night is between the Rays and the Rangers. Tampa Bay, with a record of 28-21 this season, comes off two straight losses to the Rangers. These two teams are pretty evenly matched, even at the pitcher position. On the mound for the Rays today is Jeffrey Springs, who is 2-2 this season. Springs has an ERA of 1.62, a remarkable ERA to be sure.

On the opposite side, the Rangers will start Jon Gray, who has a 1-2 record. Gray’s ERA is much worse than Springs, so keep that in mind when betting. In terms of batting, the Rangers have a slight edge at .234. However, with Springs on the mound, we believe the best pick is the Tampa Bay Rays -115.
