MLB Best Bets for May 3, 2022

It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Tuesday’s schedule.

Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets – 3:10 PM ET

The first game we’ll be taking a look at today is the Atlanta Braves versus the New York Mets. These teams will play each other twice today and the Braves won the first game of the series. Charlie Morton is back on the mound for the Braves and is 1-2 this season. Morton’s 7.00 ERA puts him in a bad spot against the Mets batters.

With a team average of .257, the Mets have some of the best batting in MLB. Their loss to the Braves yesterday was quite a shocking one. With the chance to win two games today, we expect a great game from pitcher Carlos Carrasco. We’ll take the Mets to win -120 in the first of the two games today.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Miami Marlins – 6:40 PM ET

If we jump forward a few hours we’ll see the Diamondbacks face the Miami Marlins. Arizona leads this series 1-0 after a 5-4 victory. They actually have a good chance at winning this one as well with Humberto Castellanos on the mound. Castellanos is 1-1 this season, not a great record, but much better than Trevor Rogers.

The Miami Marlins will start the 1-3 Trevor Rogers tonight. Rogers has an ERA of 5.09, slightly better than Castellanos. The real difference here is in batting, where the Marlins have an edge on the Diamondbacks. Although they lost the first game of the series, we think the Marlins will bounce back tonight. Take Miami -160 in tonight’s game.

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays – 7:07 PM ET

Our third game of the night is the continuation of the Yankees versus Blue Jays series. New York won the first game of the series 3-2 and is looking for their 11th straight win. Today, the Yankees have their work cut out for them as Alek Manoah takes the mound for Toronto. Manoah is 4-0 this season with 25 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched.

The Blue Jays batters will face Jameson Taillon, the 1-1 pitcher for the New York Yankees. After a close loss, the Blue Jays come in as -135 favorites tonight. The main reason for the odds is they have Manoah starting. Even with Manoah on the mound, we think the Yankees can pull this one off.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Milwaukee Brewers – 7:40 PM ET

After losing ten games on the road, the Reds are looking to break the road losing streak. At the moment, they’re 3-19 with little to no sign of improvement. Tyler Mahle will get the start on the mound tonight with a record of 1-3 as a starter. Unfortunately for the Reds, they face the Milwaukee Brewers, who are first in the NL Central.

With a record of 15-8 and 7-4 at home this season, the Brewers are clear favorites. Brandon Woodruff, 2-1 as a starter, will be the first pitcher on the mound tonight. The only area where we think the Brewers could improve is at the plate. As a team, they have a batting average of .218, still, they should beat the Reds today.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Kansas City Royals – 8:10 PM ET

Our final game of the night will see the Cardinals take on the Royals. The Cardinals etched out a slight 1-0 win in the first game of this series. Led by Dakota Hudson, the Cardinals will look for their second win of the series. Hudson has an ERA of 2.75 and he’s got some good batters backing him up.

The Kansas City Royals will send the 0-2 Brad Keller out to the mound today. Keller has a great ERA of 2.19 and it’s not necessarily his fault that he’s 0-2. However, the bullpen for the Royals is relatively weak, which is why they’ll lose tonight. Take the St. Louis Cardinals to win this game -115.
