It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Wednesday’s schedule.
Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets – 1:10 PM ET
Kicking off our best bets of the day is the Atlanta Braves taking on the New York Mets. The Braves have lost the last two games of the series, most recently a 3-0 loss. Having not scored a run in the last two games, the Braves aren’t giving us much confidence here. The 2-1 Ian Anderson will get the start for the Braves on the mound tonight.
The batters of the Atlanta Braves face tough competition as Tylor Megill takes the mound for New York. Megill is 4-0 this season with an ERA of 1.93 and he’s got some batters to back him up. As a team, the Mets have a batting average of .257 with an on-base percentage of .338. Take the New York Mets -140 in today’s game.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Kansas City Royals – 1:10 PM ET
Another key game for bettors to place wagers on is the Cardinals at the Royals. This series has gone back and forth so far with it currently being tied 1-1. The Cardinals lost the previous game 7-1 but will hope to bounce back tonight. Taking the mound for St. Louis is Adam Wainwright, who is 2-3 this season.
On the mound for the Royals is the 0-2 Kris Bubic. Bubic has struggled this season which is apparent from his 10.50 ERA. Through 12 innings pitched, he’s allowed 16 hits along with three home runs. Between the Cardinals and the Royals, the Cardinals seem much more fit to win this game on the road.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Oakland Athletics – 3:37 PM ET
Fast-forwarding a bit into the afternoon is a great game to watch and bet on. The Tampa Bay Rays, 14-10 this season, face the 10-14 Oakland Athletics. The Rays are third in the AL East and can move forward a bit with a win here. They’ve won the first two games of this series, we think they can close it out with a win today.
The starting pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays tonight will be Corey Kluber, who is 1-1 this season. Kluber has an ERA of 3.05 and has thrown 18 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched. For the Athletics, the 2-2 Frankie Montas will get the start. The Rays come into this game at -125 on the Moneyline. Look for Tampa to end the regular-season series with a win.
Los Angeles Angels at Boston Red Sox – 7:10 PM ET
The 15-10 Los Angeles Angels might seem like they’ll easily take down the Red Sox. However, it’s important to note that they’re coming off a 4-0 loss to the Red Sox. The Angels have had inconsistencies at the plate and on the mound this entire season. The 1-1 Reid Detmers will get the start for the Angels tonight. Detmers has an ERA of 5.19 in 17.1 innings.
The Red Sox are 10-14 this season but have already won the first game of the series. The 1-1 Garrett Whitlock will take the mound tonight and try to extend their winning streak. Going against the Angels batters will be tough, but the Red Sox are equipped for it. We’ll take the Red Sox to win this one, -115 on the Moneyline.
Cincinnati Reds at Milwaukee Brewers – 7:40 PM ET
Our final game of the night will see the Reds take on the Milwaukee Brewers. The Reds are one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball, which makes them easy to bet against. The 0-4 Vladimir Gutierrez also gives us another reason to take the Brewers tonight. Keep in mind that first-baseman Joey Votto is also out tonight.
The Brewers will start the 0-1 Freddy Peralta tonight. Peralta has an ERA of 5.00 but has thrown 23 strikeouts in just 18 innings pitched. The Brewers also have better batting than the Reds, giving them another leg up tonight. Take the Brewers -280 in tonight’s game.
