It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Monday’s schedule.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – 6:35 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers are playing like the best team in Major League Baseball right now. They have a 19-7 record with a 9-5 record on the road. Leading them tonight is Julio Urias, who has a 2-1 record as a starter. With a 1.88 ERA after 24.0 innings pitched, the Dodgers come into this game as -245 favorites.
The Pittsburgh Pirates will send the 0-1 Jose Quintana out on the mound today. Quintana’s ERA is pretty great at 3.38. However, facing the bats of the Dodgers could be a tough test for him. Los Angeles is batting .239 as a team with an on-base percentage of .324. Look for the Dodgers to come out on top in this one.
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Cincinnati Reds – 6:40 PM ET
The Brewers sit at 19-10 with a 9-6 record when traveling. Today, they face one of, if not the worst team in MLB, the Cincinnati Reds. The Brewers lost two of their last five games, but both of those losses were to the Braves. Tonight, they can bounce back and put a strike in the win column. On the mound today is Brandon Woodruff (3-1) arguably their best pitcher.
The Cincinnati Reds find themselves with a 5-23 record as of May 9. They have, however, won two of their last five games, which is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately for them, both batting and pitching are areas where they’re lacking. Taking the mound is Luis Castillo who has yet to pitch in a game. Hopefully, he can bring the Reds some luck tonight.
Cleveland Guardians vs. Chicago White Sox – 8:10 PM ET
At 14-14, the Guardians have a chance to go over .500 today. All they’ll need to do is take down the 14-13 Chicago White Sox. In their series against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Guardians won three out of four games. Being able to beat the Blue Jays in a series is no easy task, so keep that in mind. Pitching tonight for the Guardians is Zach Plesac, who is 1-3 this season.
The Chicago White Sox will send Michael Kopech to the mound in his first start of the season. Kopech has an ERA of 1.17 in 23 innings pitched, through those innings, he’s allowed only 13 hits. To us, it’s clear that the White Sox are putting the better pitcher on the mound. The difference here is with batting, where the Guardians are better. Still, we’ll take the White Sox.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Los Angeles Angels – 9:38 PM ET
Later in the night, we’ll see the Tampa Bay Rays versus the Los Angeles Angels. The Rays are second in the AL East with a record of 18-11. They’re 9-4 when traveling this year, however, they come into this game as +110 underdogs. The reason for this is that the batters for the Rays will have to face Noah Syndergaard.
Syndergaard, the starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels tonight, is 2-1 this season. He has an ERA of 2.63 over the course of 24 innings. The Rays are starting a pretty solid pitcher of their own in Jeffrey Springs. Springs is a LHP with a 1-0 record this season but has only pitched 13 innings. This is going to be a close one, but we’ll go with the upset, Rays +110.
Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants – 9:45 PM ET
This could easily be the most entertaining game of the night. The Rockies are 16-12, which is in fact, the same record as the San Francisco Giants. However, the Rockies haven’t performed well when traveling this season, going 5-7 on the road. Each of these NL West teams is fighting for position, making this game a must-watch.
The Rockies will start Austin Gomber, who is 2-2 on the season. The Giants will start a LHP of their own in Carlos Rodon, who is 3-1. In terms of batting, the edge goes to the Rockies who have a team batting average of .257. In this category, the Rockies rank first in Major League Baseball. They’re massive underdogs tonight, but we’ll take the Rockies +215.
