MLB Best Bets for September 27, 2022

It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Tuesday’s schedule.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Guardians – 6:10 PM ET

The Tampa Bay Rays have lost two straight games, bringing their record to 84-69. It’s not a great record to be sure but they’re still third in the AL East. Tonight, with the 10-9 Corey Kluber on the mound, they’ll face the 86-67 Cleveland Guardians. Keep in mind that the Rays have a batting average of .242, well below the Guardians’ average.

Getting the start for the 86-67 Guardians is the 12-8 Shane Bieber. Bieber has an impressive ERA of 2.81 over the course of 189 innings. With him on the mound and a batting average of .252, the Guardians are our pick. They come in at -155 and have a record of 40-32 at home.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – 6:35 PM ETreds vs pirates baseball betting

After suffering an 8-3 loss to start this series, the Reds are hoping for a win tonight. Unfortunately for them, Hunter Greene has been named the starter at the pitching position. Greene has an ERA of 4.91 and a record of 4-13 this season. It also doesn’t help that the Reds have a team batting average of .237 and are 1-4 in their last five.

On the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight is the 5-12 Mitch Keller. Keller has an ERA of 3.99, however, which is far better than Greene’s average. The only area of concern we have for Pittsburgh is at the plate. They have a team batting average of .221 but that wasn’t a problem yesterday. We’ll go with the Pittsburgh Pirates at home -115 over the Reds.

Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals – 7:05 PM ETbraves vs nationals baseball betting

The Atlanta Braves have a record of 96-58 coming into this game. They’ll start Kyle Muller, a 1-1 pitcher with an ERA of 10.57 this season. With poor pitching on the mound, the Braves will have to rely on their batting. The good news for them is they have a team batting average of .253. However, their opponent tonight has a rather strong batting average as a team as well.

The Washington Nationals have a record of 53-100 after yesterday’s 8-0 loss. Getting the start tonight is Paolo Espino, who has an 0-7 record with an ERA of 4.17. It’s a tall task to ask the Nationals to beat the Braves, even if their at home. Because of this, we’ll go with the Atlanta Braves over the Washington Nationals again tonight.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers – 7:40 PM ET

With a record of 89-65, the St. Louis Cardinals still lead the NL Central. Following behind them, however, is Milwaukee Brewers at 82-71. The Cardinals will send out Miles Mikolas to face the Brewers batters. Mikolas has a record of 11-13 this season with an ERA of 3.35. As a team, the Cardinals have a batting average of .253, far better than the Brewers.

With the Brewers only trailing a few games behind, this is an important matchup. Adrian Houser getting the start on the mound, however, is a problem. Houser has a 6-9 record with an ERA of 4.62. Their batters have an average of .235 so we’re going to take the Cardinals at -110.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres – 9:40 PM ET

The Los Angeles Dodgers face the San Diego Chargers in what could be an entertaining game. Leading the NL West with a record of 106-47 is the Dodgers, with Tyler Anderson on the mound. Anderson has a record of 15-4 with an ERA of 2.52 over the course of 167.2 innings. Perhaps more impressive is the Dodgers team batting average of .259.

Although the Dodgers are the clear favorites, it doesn’t mean they’re guaranteed to win. In fact, only a few days ago they lost 11-0 to the St. Louis Cardinals. The San Diego Padres are 85-68 and sending out SP Blake Snell. Snell has an ERA of 3.62 and is familiar with the Dodgers. We’ll go with the upset and take the Padres at +100 tonight.
