Washington Nationals at Atlanta Braves

The series between the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves continues today. However, the Nationals are reeling from a 16-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves yesterday and will hope to bounce back. Getting the start on the mound for the Nationals is the 0-1 Josiah Gray. Nelson Cruz is on the “day-to-day” list and could miss today’s game.

The Atlanta Braves are likely feeling good after such a big win. They’ve brought their record to 3-3 now and will have Max Fried on the mound today. Fried is 0-1 as well with an ERA of 7.94. Center Fielder Drew Waters is on the injury list for the Braves and could be out today. They’ll rely on their batting again to win them this game.

Cleveland Guardians at Cincinnati Reds

The first game of the series between these two went to the Cincinnati Reds. Today, the Guardians will hope that their batters can secure a road win. As a team, the Guardians’ batting average is .305, a solid average to be sure. Steven Kwan is the player to watch for the Guardians here as he’s batting .667 this season.

The Reds will put Nick Lodolo on the mound in today’s game. This is Lodolo’s first start and the Reds will hope for a solid outing from him. There are already two pitchers for the Reds on the 10-Day IL so don’t expect to see Mike Minor or Lucas Sims.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Minnesota Twins

Perhaps one of the most entertaining games of the day will take place in Minnesota. The Dodgers are 2-2 to start the season and will have Clayton Kershaw on the mound. This pits Kershaw against Byron Buxton, the home run hitter for the Minnesota Twins.

The Twins’ pitching has been inconsistent, these inconsistencies were on display yesterday. They lost the first game of the series against the Dodgers 7-2 and now face one of LA’s best pitchers. Chris Paddack, formally of the San Diego Padres, will get the start on the mound for the Twins.

Kansas City Royals at St. Louis Cardinals

The Royals have lost three games in a row and are batting .215 so far this year. In their first game against the Cardinals, they lost 6-5. Today, the Royals will put Zach Greinke on the mound in his first start of the season. Through 5.2 innings pitched, Greinke has landed a single strikeout.

On the opposite side, Adam Wainwright will be the leading pitcher for the Cardinals. Wainwright is 1-0 as a pitcher so far this year and has six strikeouts in six innings pitched. Third baseman Nolan Arenado is a player to keep your eyes on today. He’s batting .438, with three home runs and nine RBIs.

Houston Astros at Arizona Diamondbacks

This year, the Astros have started the season off 4-1, and the Diamondbacks have started the complete opposite. Houston’s Alex Bregman leads the team in home runs, batting average, and RBIs. With their performances at the plate, it’s no surprise, that the Astros are 4-1. The 1-0. Framber Valdez will be the starting pitcher today.

After losing four games in a row, things aren’t looking good for the Diamondbacks. However, they’ll be starting one of their better pitchers in tonight’s game with Merrill Kelly. Over four innings pitched, Kelly has seven strikeouts. Unfortunately for Arizona, their batting just isn’t up to par with the Astros, who they lost to yesterday.
