MLB Rundown for May 1, 2022

It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look at the top five games on Sunday’s schedule.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. St. Louis Cardinals – 2:15 PM

The first game of our rundown is the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. the St. Louis Cardinals. The Diamondbacks, 10-12, have won the last two games of the series. Over their last five games, the Diamondbacks are 4-1 and will start Zach Davies tonight. The only problem for Arizona is as a team they have a .181 batting average.

The St. Louis Cardinals will hope to bring the series to 2-2 tonight. This is the final game of the series and St. Louis has lost the last two. They have an edge in terms of batting with a team average of .236. However, the Diamondbacks were able to beat them 6-2 just a few days ago.

Atlanta Braves vs. Texas Rangers – 2:35 PM ET

The Atlanta Braves are currently 10-12 with a 4-5 record on the road. Today, they head into their third game of the series against the Texas Rangers after suffering a 3-1 loss. With the series now tied, the Braves will send Max Fried out to the mound for the final game. Fried has a record of 2-2, throwing 21 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched.

The Texas Rangers are 3-9 at home this season with an overall record of 7-14. However, they were able to secure a win over the Braves yesterday. In order to do it again, they’ll need to have a strong pitching outing. Taking the mound is Taylor Hearn who is 0-2 this season with an ERA of 7.47.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Colorado Rockies – 3:10 PM ET

Following up the Braves versus Rangers game is the Reds versus the Rockies. Cincinnati has had an awful start to the season, currently 3-18. In order to turn their season around, they need to start winning games. Unfortunately for them, they’re facing the 12-9 Colorado Rockies, who have already won the first two games of the series.

The Rockies will start the 0-3 LHP Kyle Freeman tonight. Freeman has had a tough start to the season, with an ERA of 6.16. Still, he’s not nearly as bad as Reiver Sanmartin, the starting pitcher for the Reds. Sanmartin has an ERA of 10.91 and has allowed three home runs this year.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Oakland Athletics – 4:07 PM

The Cleveland Guardians have been in control of this series since Game 1. Yesterday, they pulled off a 3-1 victory, and today they’re going for the sweep. They’ll hope for a strong game from the 0-2 Triston McKenzie. If McKenzie doesn’t have a good game, they can still rely on their batters to get the job done.

The Oakland Athletics are 10-11 after losing their last two games. They’re 2-3 over their last five games and will start James Kaprielian tonight. Kaprielian has yet to make a start this season or even pitch an inning. We’ll have to wait and see what he brings to the table tonight.

Detroit Tigers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – 4:10 PM

During the same time as the Guardians vs. Athletics, the Tigers will face the Dodgers. Detroit pulled off a surprising 5-1 win over the Dodgers in Game 2. After giving up a home run in the first inning, the Tigers prevented the Dodgers from scoring again. Tonight, the batters of the Tigers will face a tough test as Walker Buehler takes the mound.

Los Angeles will have their 3-0 pitcher on the mound tonight, while the Tigers start the 0-1 Eduardo Rodriguez. With one of the best teams in MLB, it should be a shock that the Dodgers are -260 tonight. It’s important to note, however, that the Dodgers have lost three of their last five games.
