The NFL is back! The first games of the season kicks off on Thursday night, and the rest of the weekend’s matchups are sure to be exciting. There are a lot of questions heading into this season: Can Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers lead their teams to the playoffs? Will the Dallas Cowboys finally live up to their potential? What will Jimmy Garoppolo do in San Francisco? We’ll find out the answers to these questions and more over the next few months. In the meantime, let’s take a look at some of the matchups for week 1.

NFL Regular Season Week 1 Betting Outlook

It’s the first week of regular season action in the NFL, and we anticipate some incredible games.

Today we’re going to take a look at each of these games and make our picks.

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins – September 11, 2022 12:00pm CST

It would seem that the NFL scheduled several interdivisional games for Week 1. Mac Jones and the New England Patriots will face Tua Tagovialoa and the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots had one of the best defenses in the league but Miami added a significant receiver. 

Tyreek Hill now plays for the Miami Dolphins and provides a deep threat. Tua Tagovialoa needs to exploit the Patriots secondary early and often to win this game. With Hill and Tagovialoa on the same page, we think the Dolphins will start Week 1 with a win.

Baltimore Ravens vs. New York Jets – September11, 2022 12:00pm CST

Last season was a rough year for the Baltimore Ravens. However, they still have one of the best young quarterbacks in the league in Lamar Jackson. Jackson gets a great game to start the season with as he faces one of the worst defenses in the league. 

The New York Jets look similar to their roster last season, which is a problem. They ranked 32nd in points allowed last season, giving up 29.6 per game. Now, they face the Ravens as heavy underdogs. Don’t count on the Jets covering the spread and take the Ravens instead.
