NFL Regular Season Week 17 Betting Outlook

You never know what will happen heading into each NFL game, since they are often a toss-up.  Many times, the underdogs can surprise you and come out ahead.

Only two weeks remain in the NFL season, and we are down to just a handful of playoff spots remaining. However, there are still four division titles to hand out, top seeds to secure, and 24 teams still in the running for a postseason berth.

The intensity is high, and the betting is the best of the season.

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions – Sunday, January 1st, 2023 12:00 pm CST 

Detroit’s loss to the Panthers on Saturday hurt their playoff chances, but it didn’t strike a death blow. They still have an opportunity to play their way into the postseason with a 9-8 record, as long as they beat the Bears and Packers to end the season.

When these two teams played in Chicago in November, the Lions scored 21 points in the fourth quarter, coming back to win 31-30. Detroit is favored by 5.5 points this time around and paying -238 on the moneyline, so it’s not expected to be quite as dramatic as the first meeting.

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots – Sunday, January 1st, 2023 12:00 pm CST 

There are two Wild Card spots left in the AFC, and both the Dolphins and Patriots are still in the hunt to grab one of them. Neither team is accelerating toward the playoffs. Miami has now lost four in a row, and just wasted a 10-point lead to the Packers. New England lost for the second straight week right at the end of the game.

Miami (-2) is the favorite in Foxborough, but it is expected to be a very close game.
