Week 16 Recap: Green Bay Packers vs Miami Dolphins

NFL Week 16 Recap

We are seeing many teams getting ready for the playoffs as we head into the final weeks of the NFL regular season. Some teams are starting to take the lead, while others fall into the background.

This next week, there are many games that are up in the air. You never know what will happen heading into each game. Many times, the underdogs can surprise you and come out ahead.

The dust has finally settled on a Christmas weekend Week 16 in the NFL. There are still five playoff spots still up for grabs, as we head into week 17. For now, let’s take a look at your week 16 recap.

Dolphins’ Season Packing It In (26-20 Packers)

There was a time when we were talking about the Super Bowl for the Miami Dolphins, and Tua Tagovailoa was being mentioned as one of the top MVP candidates. But Miami lost three straight road games, and on their return to South Florida on Christmas Day, they lost a fourth straight.

Tua threw three interceptions in just the fourth quarter, and after entering the game as 3.5-point favorites, Miami lost to the Packers, 26-20. And to make matters worse, on Monday, Tua was back in concussion protocol for the third time this season.

Miami had an 84-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle in the first quarter and another 52-yard completion to Tyreek Hill in the second quarter. But the Miami offense disappeared in the second half. They missed a field goal in the third quarter on their only possession, and then all three possessions in the fourth quarter ended by interception.

Miami remains in control of its own destiny. Win their last two games, and they are in the playoffs. But Tua’s health is uncertain going forward, and this team is sinking fast.

For the Packers, they, too, are very much in the playoff hunt after getting the big win. Aaron Rodgers called the victory “special.”
