The 2023 US Open is here and this week is going to be a big week for its competitors. Each year, strong tennis players from around the compete for a chance at the title. The US Open is just one of the four major tennis tournaments known as grand slams. Let’s take a look at what happening in New York at the US Open this week shall we?

US Open Women’s Players

As the week is beginning to progress, there are so many shocking things that have already happened. For starters, Maria Sakkari was ultimately knocked out the tournament. This was her third first-round exit out of the grand slams she has been in this year.

Another player that we are keeping a close eye on is Iga Swiatek. She looked very powerful as she defeated her opponent, Rebeca Peterson. We look forward to watching her and other female players this week as they advance.

US Open Men’s Players  

As for the men’s players, they are gearing up and ready to compete for the championship. One player that we are going to keep our eyes on this year is the former winner Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz is ranked highly for good reason. He is just coming off his win against Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon recently. He is looking to win yet another grand slam this year at New York. However, Novak Djokovic will be back and ready to take on the title as well. It will be fun to see if one of these two takes home the trophy, or if another player can come in a sweep victory.
