Philadelphia 76ers Travel to Toronto to Face the Raptors
The Philadelphia 76ers haven’t begun to rest players just yet, but we could see it soon. They’re currently ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference, making them an essential lock for the playoffs.
So, with that being said, they could decide to sit some of their best players to avoid any injuries. If they do that, could they still find a way to take down the Raptors on Thursday night?
The Toronto Raptors are nearly in the same situation as the 76ers. They’re fifth in the Eastern Conference, following closely behind the 76ers. However, even a win over the 76ers wouldn’t allow them to move to No.4.
Because of this, we think that the Raptors could sit a few of their best players out this time. If they do, we’ll have to see which of their players are being rested.
Game Preview: Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors April 7
The 76ers, when not resting their players, have an offense that averages 108.72 points per game. In their most recent game, the 76ers demolished the Hornets, 144-114. If we see another offensive showing like this, the 76ers should roll right over Toronto.
However, just a game before that, the 76ers lost to the Detroit Pistons, 102-94. So, can we trust the 76ers in this game?
The Toronto Raptors, at the time of writing, have won five games in a row. The game we consider to be the most impressive is their win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers have a strong defense, one of the best in the league. If Toronto wants to beat the 76ers, they’ll need to have another performance like that. So, between these two, which one is the better bet?
Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors Betting Prediction
One way you can get a guide to how a game will go is by looking at previous games. Lucky for us, these two teams faced each other very recently. On March 20, 2022, the 76ers hosted the Toronto Raptors in a game that they were favored in.
The 76ers came in as eight-point favorites but lost the game, 93-88. By using that game, we can determine that Toronto is the best bet.
They were the away team and still were able to hold the 76ers offense to 88 points. This is an offense that has Joel Embiid and James Harden. Inconsistencies on the 76ers side are what lead us away from them here.
The Raptors will likely see at least a +5.5-point spread as well, making a win even more likely. We’ll be taking the Raptors with the points on Thursday.
Normally, games between these two teams have gone over the total in the past. However, their last game went well under the total.
Although it could’ve been an anomaly, we think it’ll be the standard now. The Toronto defense knows how to play against the 76ers, so expect another low-scoring game.
