Last night was another case of so close but so far away.
We selected the Vegas Golden Knights to win on the moneyline and cover the spread. The Golden Knights did as predicted in a 5-3 win. However, these two teams combined for eight total goals, losing our pick of under 6.0 total goals.
With this parlay loss, our record for the week is 0-1-2 but 4-3-2 on individual picks. Today, we try our luck returning to the multi-game parlay featuring three moneyline legs.
Buffalo Sabres over Washington Capitals (+100)
The Washington Capitals have lost three of the last five games, including last night, 5-3, to the New York Rangers. Capitals’ number-one goalie Darcy Kuemper has played in eight-straight games, which makes us think Washington will start back-up Charlie Lindgren.
Obviously, the Sabres are the better offensive team, but it’s Washington’s potential backup goalie start and the uncertain status of Alex Ovechkin and Sonny Milano that swings our pick to the Sabres.
Philadelphia 76ers over Cleveland Cavaliers (-141)
The Philadelphia 76ers have won five games in a row and six of the last seven and haven’t played since March 12th.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have won four of the last five games and finished a four-game road trip last night in Charlotte.
The 76ers won the most recent matchup 118-112 on February 15th, while the Cavaliers won the first matchup 113-85 on November 30th.
Philadelphia and Cleveland are very evenly matched statistically on both sides of the ball. However, it’s the 76ers’ slightly better three-point shooting percentage that gives them the slight edge, making Philadelphia our pick.
Sacramento Kings over Chicago Bulls (-115)
The Sacramento Kings currently lead the Pacific Division and hold the third seed in the Western Conference. The Kings lost their last game to the Milwaukee Bucks but have an 8-2 record in the last ten games.
The Chicago Bulls have won three of the last five games but have a 4-6 record in the last ten and are on the outside of the playoff picture.
Take the Kings with great odds.
