ACTION247: NBA and NHL Parlay for Sunday, November 20, 2022

The NBA and NHL continue to ramp up as we move through the year’s first half. With a few big games scheduled, let’s look at how we think three matches will play out.

Pittsburgh Penguins (-227) over Chicago Blackhawks

There are only two NHL games slated for today, and this is the one we’d watch. The 8-7-3 Pittsburgh Penguins will face the 6-8-3 Chicago Blackhawks. The Penguins are coming off two straight victories, one of the Winnipeg Jets and the other over the Minnesota Wild. Averaging 3.61 goals per game, they’re the favorites leading into this game.

The Chicago Blackhawks have lost their last three games this season. Most recently, they lost 6-1 to the Boston Bruins. Prior to that, it was a 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues and another to the Carolina Hurricanes. This one is an easy choice; take the Penguins on the road over the Blackhawks.

Denver Nuggets (+10) over Dallas Mavericks

The spread between the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks is quite large. To be fair, the Mavericks did just beat the Nuggets 127-99. This was likely due to both Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray being sidelined. However, we have to keep in mind the Nuggets are actually a pretty good team.

Another important note is that the Mavericks have a few uncharacteristic losses in their schedule. One loss was to the Denver Nuggets 127-99, and the other was a 113-105 loss to the Washington Wizards. Although we think the Mavericks will win, we’ll take the Nuggets to cover the spread.

Los Angeles Lakers (-6.5) over San Antonio Spurs

This game is definitely an interesting one because each team has struggled. The San Antonio Spurs have a 6-11 record and are 3-6 on the road this season. They’ve lost four of their last five games this year, but they have a 111-93 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. However, the Lakers seem to have a slight edge on them here.

With a record of 4-10, the Lakers being favored is a surprise. However, when you look at how they’ve performed in their last few games, it becomes clearer. They’ve won two games in a row, one over the Brooklyn Nets. Take them at -6.5 over the Spurs tonight.
