Action247 Same-Game Parlay for January 31, 2023

We entered last night 0-1 for the week and 1-2 on individual picks. The Phoenix Suns defeated the Toronto Raptors as predicted. However, the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic failed to hit the over, while the Winnipeg Jets got the win as expected over the St. Louis Blues, but the game ended in a push. This parlay loss drops our weekly record to 0-2, while we are 2-3-1 on overall picks.

When mired in a slump, sometimes you need to challenge yourself. We’ve picked one game from Tuesday’s NBA Schedule for our same-game parlay, with a significant level of difficulty considering one of the teams involved.

Los Angeles Clippers over Chicago Bulls (-141)

The LA Clippers are the moneyline favorite in this game and our pick to win the game straight-up. The Clippers have a 14-14 record on the road, while the Bulls are 13-10 at home and returning from a road trip but are 3-2 in the last five games.

The Clippers are our pick if they send a lineup on the court that features their best players. With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George listed as probable for tonight’s game and constantly in and out of the lineup, you really don’t know how competitive the Clippers will be on any given night.

We’re operating under the assumption that either Leonard, Paul, or maybe we’ll get a rare glimpse of both players in the starting lineup for the Clippers, who have won four of their last five games.

Los Angeles Clippers -2.5 over Chicago Bulls (-110)

In their last five games, the Clippers have a 4-1 ats record, while the Bulls are 3-2 ats. Overall, LA has a 26-27 ats record, while the Bulls have a 25-22-2 ats record.

The Clippers are 4-0 ats in the last four games playing on one day of rest and 11-5 ats in the last 16 meetings in Chicago. However, in more recent history, the Clippers are 1-5 ats in the last six head-to-head meetings with the Bulls.

If, and this is a big if, the Clippers actually have George and Leonard in the lineup and producing, they should beat the Bulls at home and cover the 2.5-point spread in the process.

Will the Clippers cover the spread (or even win) without Leonard or Paul (or both) not in the lineup? That’s a tough ask, but we’re taking the Clippers to win and cover the spread, which is something they have done with great success recently.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Chicago Bulls Over 226.5 (-110)

Compared to other total points betting lines in the NBA, 226.5 total points is completely reasonable and, more importantly, easier to hit than a total points line over 230 points.

The over is 3-01 in the Bulls’ last four games playing on two days’ rest. The Clippers have hit the over in four straight games, while the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings between LA and Chicago.

We’ll take the over in a high-scoring affair, with the Clippers coming out on top.

That is if the Clippers actually have their best weapons in the lineup, which is a question you have to ask every game the Clippers play.
