We learned a lot from the Sports world last night: you can’t trust or believe in the Boston Celtics, you should let sleeping dogs lie, and not to bet against Playoff Jimmy. We also learned that despite our best attempts to will to fruition the success of our parlay and quest to regain our parlay championship, we’ve fallen short again.
However, it was a mixed night of results. The Dallas Stars made two separate comebacks before losing 4-3 in overtime to the Vegas Golden Knights. We had selected the Stars to pull off the road upset and for the game to follow the head-to-head trends rather than playoff trends by hitting the under.
That’s two losses in one game.
However, our refusal to bet against Playoff Jimmy paid off. The Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics 111-105 for a total of 216.0 points. We selected the over, with a 215.0 total points line.
A close win is a win, nonetheless.
With last night’s results, our record drops to 0-6 on parlays and 7-10-1 on individual picks. However, we’re closing our week with one last same-game parlay, attempting to end the week with a .500 record on individual picks with our highly cherished title belt in hand.
Los Angeles Lakers over Denver Nuggets (-227)
Anthony Davis had his underwhelming “off-game” in game two, meaning he’s likely to have a big game in game three.
He’s also the Lakers’ key to winning a single game or the entire series against Denver.
The Lakers have a 30-18 record at home, while the Nuggets have a 21-25 road record.
The home team has won all six games this season, with Denver holding a 4-2 lead in the head-to-head season series.
We; ‘re taking the Lakers to win on the moneyline.
Denver Nuggets +5.5 over Los Angeles Lakers (-110)
The two playoff games between Denver and Los Angeles have ended with five and six-point spreads.
The Nuggets are 1-4 ats in the previous five meetings and 1-5 ats in the last six games in Los Angeles.
However, while we’re taking the Lakers to win at home, we think this game will be close in the end, and Denver will keep the spread under six.
Denver Nuggets versus Los Angeles Lakers Under 222.5 (-110)
Historically, the over is 30-14-2. However, the under is 4-2 this season.
We expect Anthony Davis to play well and for Nikola Jokić to score another triple-double, while we don’t expect the Nuggets’ offense to be as efficient on the road. We expect this game to be a little slower and lower scoring, so we’re taking the under.
