NFL Week 18 Recap
The final week of the regular season has concluded, and it’s playoff time in the NFL. This year’s Wild Card weekend is going to be epic because of the extra game with the format change. Fourteen teams make the playoffs, and only the top seed in the AFC and NFC receive bye weeks.
Before breaking down the playoff matchups, we cannot forget what happened in Week 18. This slate of games set the stage for the postseason, so it’s important to understand how teams finished the year.
There were only a few meaningful games, but they were very entertaining. Here is your Week 18 recap!
Bills Win the AFC East
The Buffalo Bills were victorious on Sunday. This earned them the AFC East crown, and it allowed them to host the Patriots in the Wild Card,
The Jets were +16.5 but could not cover, losing 27-10. New York was competitive early, but the Bills pulled away in the second half.
Niners Going to Playoffs
The Rams could not improve their playoff position much with a win on Sunday against San Francisco. However, the Niners were playing for a playoff spot, and they came out very hungry.
The Niners prevailed in overtime, winning 27-24, They covered +4.5, and the game went over 44.5.
Raiders Win in Overtime
If the Raiders and Chargers tied on Sunday night, they both would have made the playoffs, and Pittsburgh would have been eliminated. This was nearly a possibility as the game came down to the final snap.
The Raiders hit a game-winner making the score 35-32. They covered +3 and punched their ticket to the postseason.
