Charlotte Hornets Travels to Milwaukee to Face the Bucks
The Charlotte Hornets have had a rough couple of weeks, and it’s not getting any easier. Leading up to the All-Star Game, the Hornets lost three straight games. If they continue to lose games, they could find themselves out of the top ten in the Eastern Conference.
On Monday, they’ll face off against the Milwaukee Bucks, one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
The Milwaukee Bucks lost to the 76ers before the All-Star break and will look to right the ship. They’re only a few games behind the No.1 spot in the Eastern Conference, so it’s not a huge problem.
However, they’ll definitely want to get a win over a fellow Eastern Conference contender here. That being said, who should you take at the sportsbook on Monday night?
Game Preview: Charlotte Hornets at Milwaukee Bucks February 28th
The Hornets find themselves facing one of the toughest teams in the NBA. They’ll need to find a way to shut down Giannis Antetokounmpo, which isn’t an easy task.
The injuries are also starting to pile up on the Hornets sideline. Gordon Hayward has already been ruled out, and Jalen McDaniels is listed as “questionable.” A tough game awaits the Hornets on Monday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks are dealing with a few injuries of their own. George Hill is dealing with a neck injury, and Brook Lopez is still out indefinitely. These injuries shouldn’t hinder the Bucks too much, though, as they have Giannis to rely on.
On average, Giannis is putting up 29.4 points per game, one of the highest averages in the NBA. Our biggest question is surrounding the spread.
Charlotte Hornets at Milwaukee Bucks Betting Prediction
These two last faced each other on January 10th, 2022, and the Hornets won 103-99. Charlotte was actually a 2.5-point underdog heading into the game. If the spread is somewhere around the 2.5-point mark or above, we’ll take the Hornets here.
Sure, the Bucks are 20-11 when playing at home, but their ATS record is much worse. They’ve gone 11-20 ATS at home so far.
Over the course of their last three meetings, the Charlotte Hornets are 3-0 against the spread. This season, they have a very impressive record of 32-26-2 ATS at the time of this article.
Although the Bucks could win this game, the Hornets are the better team against the spread. If their history tells us anything, it’s that we should rely on the Hornets to win at the sportsbook.
As far as the total goes, each of these teams has offenses that average over 113 points per game. With offenses as potent as these, the total is more likely to go over this time. The only concern we should have is with the injuries each team has suffered.
If the spread is 223.5 points, take the over. However, if it’s at 226 and above, it’s smarter for you to take the under.
