Between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic, it isn’t hard to figure out the better team. The Cavaliers are seventh in the Eastern Conference, and the Magic have been eliminated from playoff contention. Though this game seems like an easy win for the Cavaliers, it’s important to note their recent skid. Over their last five games, they have a 1-4 record. 

The Orlando Magic recently played the Cleveland Cavaliers and barely lost. The Magic have had a tough season and are currently last in the Eastern Conference. However, they do have a few upsets under their belts. They beat the Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder, which counts for something. They’ll look to defend their home as they face the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The main reason the Cavaliers have been so good this season is their defense. Ranked third in the NBA in points allowed, the Cavaliers surrender just 104.8 points per game. When they face the Magic, they’ll use this defense to prevent Orlando from gaining momentum. In their last game against them, they held the Magic to 101 points. We expect a similar outcome.

The Orlando Magic offense ranks as one of the worst in the NBA. Sitting at the 29th position, the Magic average 104.2 points per game. With such a lackluster offense, it’s hard to see them doing much against the Cavaliers. However, they stayed pretty competitive in their last game against Cleveland. The question is, can they be competitive enough to cover the spread?

As we mentioned, the last game between these two was only a short while ago. The Cavaliers were at home and were 8.5-point favorites. However, they only won the game 107-101, failing to cover the spread. Taking this into account, we can formulate the spread and potentially the final outcome of this game. Although Cleveland is the better team, we think the Magic will cover.

Up until recently, the Cavaliers have been incredible against the spread. When looking at their last six games, though, you can see a dramatic change. At the time of writing, the Cavaliers are 0-6 against the spread in their last six games. It’s important to note that around the beginning of their problems is when they lost Evan Mobley. This injury will be a big factor against the Magic.

Orlando will try to work the ball inside the paint against the Cavaliers. It might not win them the game, but it’ll likely keep it competitive. Speaking of competitive, we’d also take the under in this game based on each team’s offense.
