Daily Rundown for Wednesday, April 20, 2022

Here’s an overview of some of the top games in sports being played on April 20th. Today, we’re taking a closer look at five games from MLB, the NBA Playoffs, and the NHL.

white sox vs guardians baseball bettingChicago White Sox at Cleveland Guardians – 2:10 PM ET

Kicking off our daily rundown is the 6-3 Chicago White Sox at the 4-5 Cleveland Guardians. This is the first game of the series between these two teams and each is coming off a loss. The White Sox were just defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays 9-3, in an uncharacteristic showing. On the mound is Dallas Keuchel, the 1-0 LHP who’s thrown five K’s in five innings pitched.

On the other side is the Cleveland Guardians, who as a team bat .276. Keuchel will have his hands full dealing with the Guardians batters to start this game. However, Cleveland’s hitters had a tough time against San Francisco, where they were swept 3-0 in the series. Their most recent loss was an 8-1 loss where the Guardians were down 8-0 heading into the seventh inning.

Toronto Blue Jays at Boston Red Sox – 7:10 PM ETblue jays vs red sox baseball betting

Next up we have the 6-5 Toronto Blue Jays against the 6-5 Boston Red Sox. As we head into the second game of this series, the Blue Jays are already down 0-1. The first game was quite a competitive one, with the Blue Jays only losing by a single run. We expect this game to be just as competitive as the first one was. Jose Berrios will get the start on the mound for Toronto.

Leading the Red Sox as the starting pitcher is the 0-2 Nick Pivetta. Pivetta has an ERA of 9.39, which actually isn’t as bad as Berrios’ 11.81. Each team should be able to hit pretty well against these pitchers. However, the team we think will come out on top is the Toronto Blue Jays. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Blue Jays should lead them to a win on Wednesday.

Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors – 8:00 PM ET76ers vs raptors basketball betting

Shifting over to the NBA we have the Philadelphia 76er facing the Toronto Raptors. Philadelphia is already up 2-0 in this series as we head to Game 3. The story here is Joel Embiid versus the defense of the Raptors. Toronto has had a tough time slowing Embiid down and we think it could be the same case tonight. Embiid has averaged 25 points per game this series.

If the Raptors want any chance at slowing Embiid down, they need to guard the interior better. However, this means less defense around the perimeter, which could be a problem. Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers put up 38 points in Game 1. This is all without James Harden contributing much. We expect the 76ers to go up 3-0 when the final buzzer sounds tonight.

Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks – 9:30 PM PTbulls vs bucks basketball betting

Chicago is likely hoping the second game of the series goes better than the first. Chicago’s offense was shut down by the Bucks in Game 1 and only scored 86 points. In that game, the Bulls’ leading scorer was Nikola Vucevic, with 24 points. Both DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine were limited to 18 points, while Chicago’s bench combined for 14.

The difference between the Bulls and the Bucks is physicality. The Bucks are a very physically dominant team and they like to play in the paint. The matchup of Antetokounmpo versus DeRozan isn’t beneficial for the Chicago Bulls. We expect to see a change in the lineup for the Bulls tonight. However, it might not be too much help against the offense of the Bucks.

Washington Capitals at Vegas Golden Knights – 10:00 PM ETcapitals vs golden knights hockey betting

Our final game of the day is the Washington Capitals at Vegas Golden Knights. The Capitals have won their last two games, beating Montreal and Colorado. Now, they’ll head to Vegas and face the Golden Knights who could be without Robin Lehner. Each of these teams has strong records, but the Capitals are 4-1 in their last five games.

The Golden Knights average 3.14 goals per game, with 2.96 goals against per game. They’ve lost their last two games, the most recent being a 2-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils. With a record of 21-15-3 at home, Vegas comes in as a -130 favorite here. However, if their starting goalie is ruled out, we’d take the Capitals to win this one.
