Mavericks at Rockets, Cavaliers at Heat, Raptors at Suns, Golden Knights at Penguins, Capitals at Canucks, Jets at Islanders

Happy Friday, Sports Fans! After a slow NBA day on Thursday – we are back at it with some big time games on Friday. Let’s get right to it:

Dallas Mavericks at Houston Rockets

Everything is bigger in Texas, except for the records of these two teams. Although, be fair to Dallas, they are tied for fifth in the Western Conference. The Mavericks are in a battle with the Jazz and Nuggets, but all three look to stay ahead of 7th seeded Minnesota for the final “bye” in the postseason format. Houston is not a good basketball team. These two teams played a month ago, and Dallas blew them out. Expect more of the same. Too much Luka. Bet the Mavericks -11.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Miami Heat

Two former LeBron James Eastern Conference homes. The Cavaliers are the darling of the Eastern Conference, at 38-27, a big surprise this season. But, the real story is the Miami Heat. They lead the Eastern Conference, and have been tremendous most of the season. The Heat are 23-8 at home, and when at full strength – tough to beat. Are they full strength? That’ll depend on Jimmy Butler status. Watch that – but if he plays – take Miami. Betting them -5 is a decent value.

Toronto Raptors at Phoenix Suns

The Raptors are 7th in the Eastern Conference, and seem to be fairly safe from Brooklyn at two games behind them. Toronto is 18-15 on the road, but Friday’s test is the best team in the league, and a team that has won 28 out of 35 home games. The Suns are a NBA juggernaut right now. Phoenix is -6, and that does not seem like enough. Betting the Suns is definitely the answer here!

Vegas Golden Knights at Pittsburgh Penguins

Two solid teams getting together in Pittsburgh. The Golden Knights have 68 points, while the Penguins have 77. Vegas is tied for 6th in the West, while the Penguins are tied for fourth in the East. The Penguins are coming off back to back losses. You would expect Pittsburgh to be a larger favorite here. The value is on the Penguins. Bet Pittsburgh -140 over Vegas.

Washington Capitals at Vancouver Canucks

It is hard to imagine the Washington Capitals are the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. But, that’s the case. Fortunately for them, they do not seem to be threatened, and should be a playoff team no problem. The Capitals are looking to get back on track after losing in Edmonton on Wednesday. For Vancouver, they are one of the hottest teams in the league, with three straight wins. The Canucks look to keep it up and make a push towards the postseason. The Canucks at -110 seem the way to go here.

Winnipeg Jets at New York Islanders

The Jets are at the Islanders. Western Conference at Eastern Conference. The Islanders have been a little pesky as of late, beating The Avalanche on Monday night. After a nice break, look for the Islanders to be well rested. New York wins this game at home, and snaps the Jets two game winning streak. Take the Islanders -125 over the Jets.
