Denver Nuggets at Indiana Pacers Preview and Predictions

Denver Nuggets Travel to Indiana to Face the Pacers

The Denver Nuggets have been hot and cold all season, and right now, they’re ice cold. They recently took a 140-130 loss to the Phoenix Suns and fell back to No.6 in the conference.

Although they’ll likely make the playoffs, their positioning in the playoffs is key. If the Nuggets continue to lose games, they could find themselves all the way back to the No.8 spot.

The Indiana Pacers have already been eliminated from playoff contention. Still, they’ll do what they can to make this game tough on the Denver Nuggets. The Pacers recently beat the Toronto Raptors and had a solid win over the Spurs.

If they can find a way to stop Nikola Jokic, they could be in good shape here. Unfortunately, this is a task that is much easier said than done.

Game Preview: Denver Nuggets at Indiana Pacers, March 30

The Nuggets have the tenth-best offense in the NBA, averaging 111.80 points per game. With an offense this good, you’d think they’d have more wins under their belt.

However, when facing teams like the Suns, the Nuggets’ defense becomes a liability. Their defense is ranked 12th in the NBA, allowing 109.39 points per game. So, will this be an easy win for the Denver Nuggets?

The Indiana Pacers offense actually ranks 14th in the NBA, in the top 50% in points per game. Unfortunately, their defense is ranked 24th, allowing an average of 113.38 points per game. Because of this, their team has been eliminated from playoff contention.

As they prepare to host the Nuggets, the player to worry about is Jokic. If you can stop him, you could stop Denver.

Denver Nuggets at Indiana Pacers Betting Prediction

The Nuggets haven’t played the Indiana Pacers since November 2021. Denver came into the game as surprising 3.5-point underdogs. This was during the time that Domantas Sabonis was playing for the Pacers.

Denver won the game, 101-98, and went under the 205 total. In this one, the Nuggets will likely be favored by more than 5.5-points. The question is, can they cover it?

On the road this season, the Nuggets are 22-16, giving us a little confidence. Although they’ve lost recent games, we think the Nuggets can cover the spread here. They’ve performed better on the road against the spread than they have at home.

It’s also important to note that the Pacers are 33-39-2 ATS this season. With that being said, we’ll take the Denver Nuggets here.

Betting on the total is an interesting one here because of the Nuggets defense. They’ve been fickle lately, recently allowing the Suns to score 140 points.

However, the Pacers’ offense isn’t nearly as good as the Suns’ are. So, we’ll take the under here as long as the total is set at 220 and above.
