NFL Week 18 Recap

The final week of the regular season has concluded, and it’s playoff time in the NFL. This year’s Wild Card weekend is going to be epic because of the extra game with the format change. Fourteen teams make the playoffs, and only the top seed in the AFC and NFC receive bye weeks.

Before breaking down the playoff matchups, we cannot forget what happened in Week 18. This slate of games set the stage for the postseason, so it’s important to understand how teams finished the year.

There were only a few meaningful games, but they were very entertaining. Here is your Week 18 recap!

Jaguars Shock the World

All the Indianapolis Colts had to do on Sunday was defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road to earn a playoff spot. This seemed like an easy task, but it turned out to be very difficult. Jacksonville came out on fire and dominated the game.

The line of scrimmage was controlled by Jacksonville, which eliminated Jonathan Taylor from the conversation. He only had 77 yards rushing, which means he was nonexistent.

The Jaguars were +15 for the closing line, and they covered with ease, winning 26-11. Jacksonville’s money line was +750, which was the largest underdog victory of the year. The loss did not hurt sportsbooks based on the number of bets placed on the Colts.

Steelers Beat Ravens

Ben Roethlisberger is back in the playoffs for his final season in the NFL. The Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens by a 16-13 margin, covering +4. Baltimore’s final stretch of the season was embarrassing.

They faced a lot of adversity for injuries, but this was not a good showing for the team. The under of 41 points hit in this matchup.

Pittsburgh punched their ticket to the playoffs by the Raiders beating the Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
