Los Angeles Lakers Travel to San Antonio to Face the Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers are on a slippery slope right now and in a dangerous position. They’ve fallen to the No.9 spot in the Western Conference and could be eliminated from playoff contention.

In order to stop this from happening, they need to simply win games. Sure, Anthony Davis is out, but that’s no excuse. They’ll have a favorable matchup when they face the Spurs. 

The San Antonio Spurs are on the outside of the top ten looking in. Not very many games separate them and the Los Angeles Lakers, so they could get a key win. They’ve been able to secure wins in the past against teams like the Washington Wizards.

Finding ways to slow down Lebron James will be key in this one. The question is, which team should be on your ticket?

If the Los Angeles Lakers want any shot in the playoffs, they need to get their act together. They’ve lost multiple games, including a 132-111 loss to the L.A. Clippers.

The blame doesn’t fall on just one individual but the entire team. There’s a lack of energy on both sides of the ball, which is why they have the 26th ranked defense. Something definitely needs to change soon.

The San Antonio Spurs are essentially the opposite of the Lakers. Sure, they don’t have as many wins, but they don’t lack passion. They also play as a team; winning as a team and losing as a team is important.

Their offense, actually, is right on par with the Lakers, averaging 112.68 points per game. Don’t count the San Antonio Spurs out of this game, especially against L.A.

These two teams last played in late December, and the Spurs pulled off the upset. The Los Angeles Lakers came into the game -1.5 and lost, 138-110. The Lakers were also playing at home in that game, and they have a much better record at home.

On the road, the Los Angeles Lakers have gone 9-19 this season. With that being said, we’ll take the Spurs to win and cover.

The San Antonio Spurs are pretty great against the spread, going 32-30-1 this season. Although beating the Lakers is uncommon for them, the Spurs pulled off a huge win last time. They also function better as a group, and they’re playing at home.

More good news for the Spurs is that the Lakers are missing quite a few players. This gives the Spurs the best chance of winning. 

When betting on the total, take the Lakers’ defense into account. As we mentioned above, the last time these two played, the score was 138-110.

Considering the score went well over the total last time, we’ll take the over again here. Los Angeles will be dealt another loss, and the Spurs will cover the spread, with the total going over.
