Looks Ahead Notre Dame vs Illinois Big 10 – ACC Challenge

Big 10/ACC Challenge Fighting Irish vs Fighting Illini

The NCAA men’s college basketball season has been underway for a couple of weeks, and we have seen quite a few really good games so far this season. We have also seen quite a few upsets and some teams who are unexpectedly playing very well. This week provides us with another really good slate of games as teams are starting to finish up some of their non-conference matchups. The in-season tournaments are also wrapping up, leading to some great games that are not on the slate yet.

November 29th: Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Illinois Fighting Illini

This year, Notre Dame and Illinois meet in a contest in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, and it should be a very good battle. Both teams are coming into the contest 3-2. Notre Dame’s losses have come to Texas A&M and St. Mary’s, while Illinois has lost to Marquette and Cincinnati. Between these four losses, there has not been a bad loss. Both of these teams are scoring right at 70 points a game and allowing just above 60 points a game this year. Illinois has the slight edge in rebounding as they’ve brought down 45 rebounds a game to Notre Dame’s 38 per game.

Dane Goodwin leads the Notre Dame charge by scoring 15.0 points a game. Jacob Grandison scores 10.8 points per game to lead a balanced Illinois attack. Look for these two teams to fight hard as they want to win this game. I would give Illinois the edge because I feel they have better talent and are deeper.
