Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets Preview and Predictions

Ja Morant has already started off his career with a legendary beginning. He’s the main reason for the success behind the Grizzlies and their No.3 spot in the West.

They’ve had success against some great teams lately, including the Chicago Bulls. However, they have struggled before getting wins over teams they’re favored against. Will that be the case against Houston?

The Houston Rockets are at the bottom of the Western Conference, and things aren’t looking good. There’s light at the end of the tunnel, though, as their team is young and can grow from here.

However, this season was essentially a bust for the Rockets. At the time of writing, the Rockets have lost eleven straight games. This kind of play isn’t what you’d expect in the NBA.

Game Preview: Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets March 6th

The Memphis Grizzlies have the No.2 scoring offense in the NBA. On average, the Grizzlies are putting up 113.90 points per game. Ja Morant leads the team with an average of 27.6 points per game, but he has a lot of support.

Steven Adams is doing an incredible job producing rebounds for the team. With Adams crashing the boards, the Memphis Grizzlies can put up more points.

The Houston Rockets are ranked as the worst defense in the NBA. On average, the Rockets allow over 117 points per game. With a defense this bad, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that they haven’t won more than 20 games.

One thing they do better than the Grizzlies is shoot from beyond the arc. This season, the Houston Rockets average 35.59% from the three-point line.

Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets Betting Prediction

These two teams faced off in early December of 2021; the Grizzlies were eight-point favorites. Memphis won the game, 113-106, but failed to cover the spread. However, we think this game has a much different outcome.

The Grizzlies will likely be favored by more than ten points, but we think they’ll cover. This is partly due to the lackluster defense of the Houston Rockets.

You also have to take into consideration how great the Grizzlies are against the spread. This season, at the time of writing, the Grizzlies have a 42-21 record against the spread.

If you want to be impressed even more, they have a 23-9 ATS record on the road. This means they have more losses at home against the spread than on the road. Definitely take Memphis in this one.

When betting on the total, it’s a good idea to take Houston’s defense into consideration. Along with that, remember that Memphis has the No.2 scoring offense. If you put those two things together, you’ll likely hit the over in Sunday’s game.

In the last game, the total was set at 218.5; expect it to be slightly higher this time. Still, the best bet is Memphis and the over.
