MLB Best Bets for August 27, 2022

It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Saturday’s schedule.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Philadelphia Phillies – 6:05 PM ETpirates vs phillies baseball betting

Our best bets of the day begin with a game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies. With a 47-78 record, the Pittsburgh Pirates have had a tough time earning wins. In fact, they’ve lost six games in a row including a 7-4 loss to the Phillies last night. On the mound today is the 1-3 Tyler Beede who has a 4.13 ERA.

The Philadelphia Phillies have a record of 71-55 and rank third in the NL East. Tonight, they’ll continue their quest to climb up the division as they face the Pirates. The 8-5 Kyle Gibson will get the start for the Phillies tonight. Gibson has an ERA of 4.30 and has thrown 105 strikeouts in 132 innings pitched. We’ll take the Phillies again tonight at -278.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Miami Marlins – 6:10 PM ETdodgers vs marlins baseball betting

The Dodgers are arguably the best team in Major League Baseball. With a record of 87-37, the Dodgers rank first in the NL West by a wide margin. Last night, they beat the Miami Marlins 10-6 and we imagine this game going in the same direction. This is especially true with Dustin May on the mound for Los Angeles.

The Miami Marlins will start the 11-6 Sandy Alcantara, who is great competition for May. Alcantara has an ERA of 2.19 this season over the course of 176.2 innings pitched. The only problem is the Marlins batters don’t match up. We’ll take Los Angeles at -210 tonight.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Washington Nationals – 7:05 PM ETreds vs nationals baseball betting

This series proved to be exactly what the Cincinnati Reds needed to break their losing streak. Last night, the Reds earned a 7-3 win over the Washington Nationals, improving their record. Tonight, they’ll send out the 3-2 Luis Cessa, who has an ERA of 5.67 this season.

Although Cessa’s ERA is slightly concerning, so is Paolo Espino of the Nationals. Espino has a record of 0-5 this season with an ERA of 4.31. At the plate, the Nationals have a slight edge, batting .247 versus the Reds’ .240. It’s a tough call but between these two teams, we’ll take the Nationals at home -140.

Atlanta Braves vs. St. Louis Cardinals – 7:15 PM ETbraves vs cardinals baseball betting

One of the best teams in baseball right now is the Atlanta Braves. With a record of 79-48, this team ranks second in the NL East, trailing closely behind the New York Mets. Charlie Morton will take the mound for the Braves tonight, with an ERA of 3.99. The important thing to watch tonight is the batters of the Braves who have a .254 batting average.

The St. Louis Cardinals also have their own set of strong batting. With an average of .259, the Cardinals have one of the best batting teams in Major League Baseball. Getting the start on the mound tonight is the 7-3 Jordan Montgomery, who has an ERA of 3.08 this season. We’ll take Montgomery and the Cardinals at -105 tonight.

San Francisco Giants vs. Minnesota Twins – 7:15 PM ETgiants vs twins baseball betting

Our final game of the day should be an interesting one. The San Francisco Giants lost 9-0 to the Minnesota Twins yesterday and are looking to bounce back. To do this, they’ll need much better pitching and Alex Cobb will get the nod tonight. Cobb has a record of 4-6 with a 3.99 ERA.

The Minnesota Twins have a record of 63-61 and are second in the AL Central. On the mound tonight is Sonny Gray, who has a 7-4 record with a 3.10 ERA. With a team batting average of .248, we think the Twins will win this game at -140.
