It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Wednesday’s schedule.
San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants – 3:45 PM ET
The first game that we’re going to look at is between the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. The Padres, with a record of 72-59, are coming off of last night’s 4-3 win over the Giants. This marks two straight victories over the Giants for the Padres. On the mound is the 8-6 Joe Musgrove, who has an ERA of 2.96.
The Giants have had a tough time getting a win over the Padres. Hoping for a better outing than his counterparts is Alex Wood, who is 8-11 this season. His 5.00 ERA doesn’t give us much confidence, so we’ll take the Padres again -140.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds – 6:40 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals were finally dealt a loss by the Cincinnati Reds last night 5-1. Looking to bounce back, the Cardinals will send out the 4-6 Jose Quintana, who has an ERA of 3.45. They definitely have the pitching advantage with Quintana on the mound. They’re also batting .259 this season, which is quite impressive.
The Cincinnati Reds are sending out Mike Minor, who is 3-11 this season. Minor’s ERA of 6.10 has him among the worst pitchers on the Reds rotation. With Minor on the mound, we expect a big game from the Cardinals batters. Unfortunately for the Reds, they likely won’t be able to keep up tonight. We’ll take the Cardinals -235.
Oakland Athletics vs. Washington Nationals – 7:05 PM ET
The series between the Oakland Athletics and Washington Nationals began with a 10-6 Athletics win. With a record of 49-81, they’ll attempt to break 50 wins by beating them again tonight. Taking the mound for Oakland is the 3-8 James Kaprielian, who has an ERA of 4.88. The main problem is the Athletics are batting .216, one of the worst averages in MLB.
The Washington Nationals have a record of 43-86 this season and are 20-47 at home. Their inability to win games at home has them at the bottom of the NL East. On the mound tonight is the 0-5 Anibal Sanchez, who has an ERA of 5.72. We’ll take the Athletics -120 again over the Nationals.
Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves – 7:20 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies handed the Atlanta Braves their third straight loss last night. After a 3-2 win over the Braves, the Rockies are looking to notch another win tonight. Taking the mound, however, is Ryan Feltner, who doesn’t help them do this. Feltner has a 2-5 record with a 5.87 ERA this season.
The Atlanta Braves are sending out the 16-5 Kyle Wright, who will help them win. Wright’s ERA of 2.99 is one of the best in the league and he’s done this after pitching 147.2 innings. Look for Wright and the Braves to get back on track with a win tonight over the Rockies.
New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels – 9:38 PM ET
Our final game of the night is a pretty late one as the New York Yankees stay in Los Angeles. Last night ended in a 7-4 win for the Yankees, splitting this series 1-1. Gerrit Cole is being sent out to face the Angels batting lineup. This season, Cole has a 10-6 record with a 3.31 ERA over the course of 157.2 innings.
The Angels are also sending out one of their seasoned pitchers, Patrick Sandoval. Sandoval has an ERA of 3.05 over the course of 115 innings. This game comes down to batters though and the Yankees have the better lineup. This is the last game of the series and we’ll take the Yankees to win it -195.
